Guide me to my first vaping experience please

Hi all,

So I've never vaped before, I smoke about half a pack a day at the moment of malboro's and newports and I want to make the transition to vaping.

Right now i'm thinking of buying an Aspire nautilus Mini starter kit on amazon to get started but I have no idea which e-liquids to get or where to get them, or what the process is to actually get the thing working.

So, if you all could point me in the right direction and give me some feed back on the nautilus mini?

Thanks all!

Howdy, welcome to the ECF!

Here's a review from one of my favorite vape reviewers on the Nautilus Mini. He walks through basic assembly and fill guide, as well as giving you plenty of info about the features (what comes in the box) and what works best. He also goes over the.. Erm. "Interesting" metal cover you can get for it (if you're worried about breaking the glass).

In terms of e-liquids, I'm not sure what you might be able to order in your country, but I like MtBakerVapor a lot. Nicoticket is also a good choice, but a bit pricier. MtBakerVapor is nice because you can order a bunch of small bottles to figure out a flavor you really like. They're also pretty good for mixing (ie: get some menthol just to throw in random juices, if you want).

The Nautilus Mini is great, I own one and still use it as a stand-by. You may want to upgrade in the future, but the Nautilus Mini should DEFINITELY help you get off the cigs, which is what we're all here for.

Enjoy your stay.

hi and welcome to ECF,

While there are many options out there please be aware that sometimes buying vape gear off amazon or ebay can be a problem. The sellers don't always tell you the truth on what they are selling and many do not offer any sorta of warranty. So the few dollars you might save could wind up costing you more in the long run.

While I don't do a lot of business with them MyVaporStore usually has some good deals and I know they even replaced a friends iPV mini she brought from them even tho the warranty had expired like a week before it broke.

Hi everyone,

I'm not trying to hijack this thread but I have a similar question. I would have post a new thread but apparently I'm not allowed to do that?

I've been a member of this forum for a long time, but I haven't been active for many years. I've just given up analogs again and I'm very out of touch with e-cigs these days. I could do with some UK related recommendations for a good quality cigalike with a decent amount of vapour, if anyone can help.

I'm currently using a Liberro Realis which is a few years old and is not working so great, I can't get any vapour when using one of the batteries.

Really, really appreciate your help and advice.

RalphDR, you're in good hands!

Thanks! That was actually exactly what I needed to see, also I saw on the mtbaker website that they sell the aspire kit for like 30 bucks less than amazon.

I use a freight forwader in miami so I can shop anywhere that'll ship to FL.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the heads up! I'll probably wind up buying it from the website nyiddle suggested for e-liquids as theirs also includes some liquid :D.

Good luck with your reboot m8!

The Nautilus min worked great for me after I upgraded from my pen. I wish I just bought this from the beginning. I have been of the cigarettes since 9/2014. I have finally convinced my wife to stop and now she just started using the nautilus fas her upgraded vape. Good Luck!

Glad to hear it!

I can't wait to get mine and see what all the fuzz is about xD

You have too many posts for the New Members section to start a thread here. You can start a thread in the other areas though.

I'm not sure any of the cigalikes will give you what you're looking for. You might also like a Nautilus Mini. I would pair it with the 30 or 50W istick or maybe the MVP 20W or 3.0.

The vaping industry has exploded since just December of 2014. There are so many options to choose from now. I recommend the setup mentioned in this thread instead of the normal start up pen kit. I do not know what Liberro Realis consist of but if its a couple years old it just might be outdated. You will probably save some cash if you start out with this advanced kit. I also think that due to the quality of vapor the Nautillus produces you will be more satisfied and stay with vaping instead of going back to smokes.

That is sort of an oxymoron. "Good quality cigalike with a decent amount of vapor."

Advancing Up the Vaping Ladder

My advice is to forget about a cigalike and try an eGo battery setup instead. About the size of a long cigar, with much more power for a longer amount of time, and the ability to use a much higher number of juice delivery devices on top. A lot of this depends upon your mindset and acceptance: You will no longer be smoking, but vaping. It will be a different lifestyle with different expectations.

Generally speaking, electronic cigarettes are extremely dependent upon batteries. The larger the battery, the better the performance of the e-cig. Having said that, what's on top (juice delivery device) has more to do with vapor production and taste than the battery device.

Thanks for that roxynoodle, I never thought of that. Thanks for the recommendation, is that the battery? It looks a bit smaller than the one in the video.

It certainly seems like it. I'm getting the impression that most people in the community will be against cigalikes. I suppose it's not just that they're not what true vaping is about, but also that they're just not that great compared to some of the others.

There's also things like this to consider:

http://www.independent.co.uk/life-s...-help-smokers-quit-study-claims-10190877.html

Anyway....

The nautilus mini seems pretty great and everyone seems to have a good opinion of it. The bloody thing is massive though, all in all. That doesn't bother me too much though, I think I will probably get one of these whether or not I can find a decent cigalike.

If anyone does have any suggestions for a decent cigalike though, I'd welcome your input. I know it's not going to have the kind of vapour output of the nautilus mini, I didn't mean that much. I just think the one I currently have is quite poor.

:)

Hahaha, yeah, I'm regretting saying 'a decent amount of vapour' on a vaping forum. I've been out of the game too long. Maybe 'acceptable' is better? Who knows, each to their own. Anyway, thanks for the advice and links, I'll have a good read :)

Hey, my ECF soul mate! I also recently (this past November) returned to vaping after an almost 5 year hiatus. After spending 2 weeks reading threads I went with the iStick 50, a couple three Nautilus tanks for mouth to lung hits and a subtank mini for direct lung hits (although I'm not all that keen on them). This time I dropped the stinkies completely.

Vaping when you and I started compared to today is like comparing a 13" black and white to a 60" OLED. Welcome back!

Haha, that's fantastic. Congratulations on your return to vaping! It certainly is! I'm getting quite excited about the possibilities now.

Any recommendations for a decent UK vendor for a nautilus mini, iStick and decent liquids?

You should idiot proof this for yourself so you don't fail. 1. Go to a "good" vape shop and when I say good, I mean a store that sells mods and not those pen batteries. Pen batteries have no power control and they cant maintain any consistent power. A good cheap mod/battery is an eleaf. My favorite tank is the aspire nautilus BVC because the coils last at least a week, even with high VG. Have the guys or the gals in the store fill your tanks for you the first time and ask lots of questions. Don't buy cheap vapor! It will burn your lungs and send you right back to the cigarettes. Plan on spending a hundred bucks. If you dont, you will be disappointed in your results.

I'd never even thought about that. We've had a few e-cig / vaping shops pop up in my town in the last few years. I suppose I could have a look and see what they have to offer, I'll make sure to take your advice. The coil is a disposable part of the nautilus I assume? Oh, I wouldn't spend less than that.

No one else mentioned so I will. Johnson Creek sells a kit that is EGO sized plus the have everything you need to use it from cartomizers, to a disposable clearomizer, to a small tank. Plus they make some 28 flavors of juice. They aren't the cheapest nor the most expensive act around but they do offer a one-stop shop which is good for getting started. I use several of their juices.

Any recommendations for a decent UK vendor for a nautilus mini, iStick and decent liquids?

VapeEscape have always been really reliable for me - I picked up my first set up and several odds and ends from there, always really fast shipping too.

Liquid wise I have yet to find a UK vendor I really like, I get my juice from VapeWild. One UK site I like is Alchemists Cupboard and have reordered from them but I still like VapeWilds liquids better (and are more customizable).

Edited to add Myepack for mods/toppers - used them more than once as well, very quick shipping and possibly slightly better prices.

I quit using Volts, served me well for my first 6 months or so while i was getting used to not smoking. They do suck as far as vapor or being satisfying, which is why the minute you say cigalike on the forum the pitchforks and torches come out but if that's what you're comfortable with, cheers

I heard that the njoy eRoll was pretty bomb too, a little pricier though. Everything I've heard about blu was to stay away. But then a blu disposable got me to start investigating vaping so...

Thanks for that dude. I appreciate the explanation, it does make a lot of sense. njoy eRoll does look like one of the better ones.

I do feel convinced by now though, I've already ordered a Nautilus Mini and an Eleaf iStick 50W. I got too excited and just bought them.

Thanks again for your help. Keep on vaping :)
