Just came from my dentist. This is my 2nd cleaning since I stopped stinkies on May 26, 2014 and got on the vape. I am DELIGHTED to report to my ECF FAMILY that the dental hygienist as well as my dentist told me my OVERALL gum tissue health has MARKEDLY IMPROVED[emoji1] [emoji16] [emoji2] [emoji16] [emoji3] [emoji16]

I mean how good is that. Many thanks to ECF and our community for providing the knowledge and the power to stay quit and enjoy vaping. Thank you one and all!

good for you!!

I know it's amazing huh? I'm on "major dental work round two" (did one about 15 years ago) hopefully the last ..and when we started this I was smoking, had to have a peridontal consult (those are the cut your gums open guys to seat crowns/bridges and that horrible mouthwash I call it "corpse flavor":p I now get the mint flavored one *lol*) and I was NOT looking forward to that when we got the put the crowns and perm bridges in. I just got the top part finally done (didn't want to make payments so it's going to take a year and half to finish) and with the bottoms left to go...my dentist was very happy to fire the Peridontist. Yippeeeeeeee

I know you're happy!!:toast:

My dentist had the same observation. Even at age 62, my gum recession has reversed, and gingivitis nearly eliminated ...

This after quitting smoking and vaping exclusively since May 2013 ...

When I had two molars extracted and implants installed as a smoker, I had to wait a full year for healing and for the bone grafts to stabilize ...

My oral surgeon is about to place three more implants to replace a permanent bridge that was poorly installed years ago. He has shortened the wait time and healing cycle from one year to nine months, now that I am officially a non-smoker ...

Both my dentist and oral surgeon are practicing in Mexico, where they are free to support vaping without fear of professional reprisal ...

I recently asked my former (now retired) dentist in the US about vaping. He gave me the standard "We just don't know ..." reply ...

This brushoff answer always irritates me. Why don't they know ? Can't they do simple research from legitimate sources ? Why don't they form an opinion based on personal observations ?

I'm retired now, but I'm trying to imagine giving my boss the "We just don't know ..." evasion when asked about resolving an engineering issue. I'm certain the response would have been "Then maybe we need to find someone who is motivated to find out ?" ...

In any event, there is no doubt in my mind that smoking cessation improves dental health, and vaping made this possible for me ... :D

I agree totally. If your Medical/Dental Professional doesn't have sufficient info or desire to learn to form his own conclusion Yea or Nay. Why would you trust him with your Life/Health?

What an awesome story. Just made me smile. Incredible actually. CASAA and your congressman would love to hear from you:laugh:

I asked my dentist to give my number to any of his patients that want to stop smoking. He said absolutely and was very interested in the harm reduction of vaping. We change the world one dentist at a time.

hmmmm....

I havent been to a dentist since i stopped smoking (my last visit was 1 year ago), but i have been pondering about my teeth. I use 3 types of tooth pastes, 2 of them are for whitening teeth, and my teeth are darker since i stopped smoking 5 month ago.

I drink less coffee and less tea, since i started vaping.

I wonder if vaping Nic juice has anything to do with my teeth being darker. I did start vaping juice with Nic about 2 month ago. If my memory serves my right at this late hour, i think thats when my teeth started to get darker in shade.

I am brain storming out loud, but i think its something should be looked in to.
