I also posted this on the main board, but my gums have become very irritated, especially the front lower gumline. It is especially noticeable when I brush my teeth. I have only been vaping 2 days (and not very heavily) using 100% PG at 11mg. I got some of the eliquid on my lips and I"m sure in my mouth from I believe overfilling the blank cartridge. I started off dripping right off the bat and probably overfilled the cartridge.

I like this product as I was able to cut down from about half a pack per day to only 3 or 4 little cigars, but the gum soreness is troublesome. I've read some threads that vaping, especially using PG can cause all sorts of things. I've read horror stories of hives, rashes, reactions, mouth and throat soreness, etc. Kinda scary.

I ordered a mix of 50/50, but increased the nicotene to 24mg just to try other eliquids.

Anyone else have these issues?

Check out this thread, also do a search and you may find more help. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/69625-sore-mouth.html

Key factor is drink more water and problems will go away in time.I'm really new at this also and have been experiencing a sore tongue, throat seems to be fine except occasional dryness. Right now I'm using all VG hoping that it will help.

It's most likely the healing gums, like kabonk said. It's pretty common for new vapers but it always freaks people out anyway. It should go away on it's own after a little bit. Also, make sure to drink a lot of water now too because vaping dries you out -- especially your mouth. The dryness generally isn't much of a concern in terms of gum health, but can contribute to cavities down the line.

Try 80pg/20vg or 70pg/30vg juices

If you like the 100% PG juice you have and it's a Chinese Dekang juice, get their VG version in the same nicotine and an empty bottle and mix yourself up some 80/20 or 70/30

I got the juice from AltSmoke....it's called French Tobacco. I ordered some 50/50 from FreedomSmokes (?) and upped the nicotine to 24mg from 11mg. Do you think that'll work also? I upped the nicotine because I thought I needed more. Perhaps I should have stuck with the lower nicotine.

More nicotine will make the juice harsher. PG itself is not harsh - it's the nicotine's harshness it lets through. I would have tried 16-18 first before 24. 50/50 should tone down the harshness quite a bit but you are dealing with twice the harshness to start with in 24mg vs 11.

What did you smoke? Often ultralights smokers can use 10-12, lights smokers 16-18, full strength smokers 24, but some people need one step higher to start.

I found 16-18 did not annoy my mouth with a 70pg/30vg blend and still gave me reasonable TH with most tobacco juices

Re vaping a lot - if you are questing to be satisfied and stop, try different tobacco flavors - took me a while to find ones I could put down and feel "done". Turkish blends worked for me - on the light complex side Backwoods Brew Casablanca, or the rougher side FreedomSmokeUSA Desert Ship which I varied by adding vanilla, chocolate or caramel to the cart (caramel as FreedomSMokeUSA oRYental 4 - a caramelly vanilla tobacco). Try leaving the PV in another room - I do that at home so I have to get up and walk there to vape - that keeps me from using it like a pacifier.

With that 24 watch out for over-niccing yourself. Typical symptoms include headache, lightheaded, rapid heartbeat

I have recently cut down to smoking about 8-10 little cigars a day before I started vaping...no cigarettes. I also take a chew at night..something I forgot to add to the original post. I thought I would try the 24mg because vaping 11mg left me a little unsatisfied. I thought the 50/50 would make it less harsh, so I upped the nicotine content. However, I didn't vape a whole lot the first two days anyway, but I did cut down to 3-4 analogues during those two days.

My goal is to stop smoking, chewing and maybe even vaping.
