My girlfriend is just starting to get into RBAs, which I think is great. I bought her a cheap starter set up in case she thought building was too much of a hassle, said set up being an RSST and a Grand Vapors Private clone. I was using this set up myself a while back, before I got my Reo Grand, and never had the problem she's having, which is a large amount of gunk gathering on her coil every thirty minutes or so. Then she cleans and repeats. She is running a standard wire mesh build with 26G Kanthal at 3 wraps. It's about 0.3ohm.

She is beginning to get frustrated, and I've even rebuilt the coil for her myself. Twice. Same problem. Any thoughts?

It's most likely just juice that gunks easily, but try at least doubling the resistance for starters. 0.3 ohms is cloud chasing territory and is going to be more likely to burn juice with all that heat. I sure hope she has good batteries that can safely handle the amp draw if continuing to use these deep subohm builds.

We both use AW 18650 1600mah, which have a 23 amp output. This did make me think though: she's much smaller than I. Perhaps she is not pulling the full hit available from such low ohmage. This would cause excess juice to quickly heat and dry every time she hits, which would certainly explain the situation. I'll have her move up to 0.6ohm or so. I'm almost positive this will solve the solve the problem. Thanks.

Just keep in mind that the juice may still be the culprit. IME anything with a lot of sweetener or caramel ("sticky" flavors) can cause coil gunking, even at much lower wattage.

Thanks, she's been vaping a ton of different flavors. She actually switches flavors just about every time her tank is empty. I believe she's currently vaping a cinnamon, pear, and honeysuckle flavor that I made.
