yes, the base is different.... (i have both)

I'll be posting up a video soon, as there seems to be a lack of Estia content on the youtubez :)
I was also told that a retrofit kit is on the way... but dont quote me on that.

from what i can see, a separate centre pin, lower insulator, and removal tool is all that is needed to do the swap.
and the 510 adapter obviously....

Pls do it. B'coz, when Gus asked me a few months back - I told him that the only one who could do justice to it would be my towner buddy BuzzK :)

Quick question, which I can not find covered anywhere, so hopefully I can get help here.

When I got the Aiolos a couple of months back, it was stripped and cleaned like all new attys, but for the life of me I could not open the base. If I used any more force, it would have ended up marked and this has bugged me since as I really want to get it apart to clean it well. I can not even find information online to tell which direction the threading runs.

Can anyone help?

Well, I don't have the standard Aiolos but if it's base is anything like the Spheroid (both are replicas of each other btw) then you take a GP-Fork, put it into the base's twin holes and turn it "clockwise" to remove it. Yes, it is reverse threaded.

Ps.: A long nose pliers will also work, but the GP-Fork is the best tool for it.

Hmm. Got my GUS lord and the switch is a little crunchy and sticky. Tried disassembling it with the hex and nut driver but it wouldn't budge. Is this thing reverse threaded?

Pls see the video of Todd re: Gus Telescopic. He dismantles the switch there. I have never opened a Gus switch so I am handicapped to give any real-time suggestion.

Turned out I just needed to use a little more force.

Dissembled it fully, and cleaned everything with 99% IPA. No more sticky switch!

Thanks for this information - I believed it was reverse threaded, but was not 100% certain.

I tried first with the GP Fork when it arrived & it was just bending out of shape. Long nose pliers would not break the bottom cap free either - this is beyond tight!

Now that I know for sure about the threading, it can go in the freezer for a while, before I get to work on it.

Wonderful! It'd be nice if you did a short clip of it too. Would help lots of folks whenever they need to open their's up, albeit me as well ;)

As a new owner of The Lord, I must say im damn pleased with the performance.

Used it straight from the mail, I had a VD of 0.3V on a 1.4 ohm build. And I thought, well, that was pretty damn disappointing.

Tore it down completely, and cleaned the crap outta every single threads on the top and top cap (had cleaned the switch up previously.)

And now I'm getting a 0.21V drop on a 0.7ohm build.

That's a damn good performer I must say. Very very happy.

Weeeell. Bought an applied this to every contact threads, and within my switch: ball bearings, between the brass button and the surrounding locking ring, where the negative post screws into the button.......

My gosh. EVERYTHING is silky smooth. Eeeeeverything. Even if I press the firing butting riiiight at the very edge. And I managed to drop my VD by 0.05V on a 0.7 ohm build. Not that significant. But this grease is soooo good.
