seems like lately about 40-50% of my new nautilus coils have a burnt taste right off the bat. I prime them like I should. I let them sit about 10 min before I start hitting it. I start at around 6w and slowly bring it up to my usual 12w by 1w every 3-4 hits with about 5 min at least in between each. I even let one sit overnight once and still got the burnt taste. Just seems weird because this only just started happening in the last 3 months and Im not doing anything different. I usually just use rebuildables but I have this naut from when I first started vaping so I still use it at work some of the time. im thinking about getting a kayfun clone or something for work but im just using up this pack and a half of coils I have. but even so it just feels like im flushing money down the drain each time it happens.

yep ; that's why you use rebuildables; you got your own quality control.

It could be where you're getting your BVC coils. There are a lot of knock off's out there. I would go with one of the big reputable vendors to play it safe. I get a bad one every once in a huge while, but overall they quality seems to be improving. I've had good luck with sweet-vapes lately, and they have the new organic cotton coils.

I sometimes get a mild burn taste for the first few minutes of puffing, but it does go away. I think this is largely to do with Apsire changing over to the cotton. If it's only at the start of a new coil, give it a bit more time. If it never goes away, hmm, I'm not sure. But I think where you buy you coils matters. Worth a shot before you buy a whole new setup. Also, 3 months is about how long ago they made the new coils.

Another thought: it could also be your mod. I have the istick 30W now and it's a dream, but the 20W had some over power issues where it would taste burnt if I went over 8 watts or so. It sounds like you know what you're doing to prime, so I think all you can do is look at the other factors.

How thick is your e-liquid? The cotton coils don't seem to wick well with juice any thicker than 50/50 in my experience as a lung hitter. Puffers might get by with 60% VG, but 70% VG is going to burn the cotton.

either 50-50 or millennium otion juice which is stated as 60/40 but seems just as thin as my usual 50/50. the burnt taste in the second coil I used on the night I started this thread went away and is still going strong. but still I know a site I can get an infinite KFL+ V2 for $22 and I have all the wick and wire im gonna need for a long while so why not.
