I remember reading in a thread to hang on to empty bottles for DIY. I have several cobalt glass ones with drippers from my boyfriend, several plastic bottles from liquids I've used. Is there any special cleaning suggested in reusing these for my own DIY adventure? Or is it simply not recommended for some reason? In my mind it's a silly question, but there's something in me that has to ask anyway. "be wise, be informed" kinda thing...

Thanks!

I pop them apart, the Halo bottles are tougher to get the bulb out of the cap, but it does come out, and rinse everything well in nearly hot water. I give everything a soak in alcohol for a few days then let them air dry.

On Halo bottles I found it is a good idea to wipe a little bit of PG around the rim of the bulb that contacts the glass bottle or it might be difficult to open when you grab it weeks later to use it.

If you use detergent or soap, be real sure they are rinsed completely. The only time I use detergent is when I'm cleaning bottles my oldest son gives me. I think he dunks all his bottles in a vat of engine grease and lets them sit for a few months before he gives them to me.

I still use my old Halo bottles regularly. I added to them by buying some cobalt blue bottles from an eBay seller that has them in any size you want. Just be sure to wash the new ones with dish detergent and they work excellent! Plastic is bad. Glass is good! :)

So don't reuse plastic ones for mixed liquids? I fully intend to store the nic in glass, but thought it'd be ok to use the plastic ones for mixes that are done. No? Wanna cover all my bases here.

Thanks Dan & Johnny for your input.

Dish washer, hot water with some dish soap soak, and vinegar. One of those three methods works for me. You can buy the blue cobalt bottles from Wizard Labs (I'm sure others have them too)
I reuse plastic bottles. The only thing that didn't come out easily was a mix using Seeman Capt. Black. Not a horrible smell but I can still detect it. It is now the offical bottle for mixing only that flavor.

Thanks everyone. I'm really looking forward to this adventure. Now to find a good Turkish for my boyfriend... Looked into the Arabian (something like that) from Hangsen on ECX. Personally, I'm into a lot of flavors, so my mixes will be easier. I hope. :)
Try Hangsen Turkish. Everybody has different tastes, but I am vaping the Hangsen Turkish @ 9% with 1% EM and it is SO good. I put menthol in it for one of my all day vapes. Pick up a small bottle of this- he might like it as much as I do! :vapor:

Despite my best efforts, and that includes even searching the mega-marketplace that is ALibaba, I have not seen anything close to these. Halo seems to keep these under their cap (LOL).

I like the droppers more than the bottles as I can find the bottles many places.

Search for glass medicine droppers. You'll find a ton of hits and it may start you down the proper path.

You've been a lot of help over the last couple days, Johnny. Thanks so much :)

I highly recommend that if you have those that have had a strong Cinnamon, Peppermint (or anything in the mint family) IF you are using plastic, to boil them out first. Glass isn't a problem removing those stronger flavors but, plastic has a tendency to leech when something like a "Fireball Cinnamon" or a LorAnn cinnamon or peppermint is used, because of it's strength. Especially if it's sat for a couple weeks... I make Fireball and I promise, it'll eat plastic tanks. ;)

I get my bottles from here...

15 ml, 1/2 oz Blue Boston Round with Glass Droppers
