The Innokin iTaste SVD is more like $100, not including the replaceable rechargeable batteries. The Vamo V3 is less at around $56 or so, not including batteries. Both are pretty cool. They can be configured short or long, and both have variable voltage and wattage, and are 510 thread compatible. I believe the SVD is even compatible with a wider range of clearomizers, etc. than the Vamo. Both are very fat compared to smaller diameter batteries than a Halo Triton, SI Volt X2 or EGO, and still generally longer, depending on what battery size you use. The Halo 400mah and 650mah batteries are particularly short compared to an SVD or Vamo. The SVD and Vamo are not for beginners and are not even for all intermediate or advanced users. They have their place, and are certainly worth looking into, but are not really in the same sort of device category as a Triton or EGO. The SVD and Vamo also have manual operation buttons, which is understandable for devices of their type, so if you want an automatic (which I personally prefer) they wouldn't be a good choice.
My Triton setup is holding up fine, and doing well for what it is. I'm still not too hot about these not being available in an automatic version. I really wish they were, because then the Triton would be nearly perfect for me. The Triton clearomizer tanks are pretty good compared to what I tried for the automatic ECHO. There are a few automatic EGOs out there, but the batteries don't seem to be as good overall. The automatic EGOs also don't normally or readily appear to be available in the shorter (650mah or less) battery length sizes. 900mah is about the shortest I've found, and they are still uncommon. The automatic VGO (and VGO2) doesn't seem to be available anywhere in the U.S. at all. It is available overseas in 650mah. I wouldn't mind checking out some automatic VGO batteries, but I wouldn't know where to reliably order them from overseas at a good price and shipping fee.
Watersplash, the prices you are quoting for an SVD or a Vamo seem a bit low compared to what I've seen online. Where are you seeing those devices at those prices? I'm sure some interested forum members would like to know. At $30-$37, even I would almost be tempted to try one out, just for the heck of it.
