I like the look. I really like being able to set it down without worrying about locking the fire button.

And yes, that's a gold zenkote in the background.

Safe travels!

What drip tip are you rocking on that combo vice?

The long tip on the kraken is from 101vape (and probably others, as it's listed on fasttech sku 1478900) and is just referred to as "Bent Top Drip Tip" (stainless steel). I thought it would look good, give it sort of a pipe feel to the whole setup. It has met my expectations! I've seen it mentioned that long metal tips like this can "cool" the vapor. Couldn't say one way or the other. I just like using this setup when I'm parked in the recliner watching the tube. I don't mind looking like a grandpa in his easy chair, because I am! :)

This post really brought a smile to my face. Thanks for sharing. I really like the look of it. Kind of reminds me of being a steampunk gandalf or frodo.

I will surely take pics. I have so many to take!

theres a threaded ring that gets threaded onto the switch assembly. make sure you remove that ring and keep it with the switch if you alternate the switch and tubes.

Does chi you fit the switch/common battery threads? Or the 510 threads?

My friend is interested in the hammer, and I think I'm having voltage loss in the spring loaded contact.

Awe what mine doesn't have the engravings on the extension tube. Either way I agree that the switch is annoying, should've ordered a different one with the chi you top cap I have on the way. I don't have the means to test voltage drop, but with the setup I have on it it should be pushing ~12.5w and it doesn't feel like it.

It fits the switch threads or the 510 head threads. Just be sure to use the threaded switch ring if you swap the 510 and the switch. I was getting voltage loss as well so I got a chi you slim cap from FT that I use when I'm not using the AIOS on my hammer. The chi switch also gives less voltage loss.

have a hammer on order, waiting for FT to ship it. can someone please link the exact chi you parts i need to fix the voltage issues. hammer is going to be my first mech. i am tired of carrying my vamo v3 around with how long and heavy it is.

heres the replacement cap i got for my hammer. i use it when im not using the AIOS. but i usually just use the aios.

cap:

aios:
https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10005381/1494000-aios-rebuildable-atomizer-for-chi-you

the chi you switch is from this chi you. as far as i know, they dont sell just the switch
https://www.fasttech.com/p/1438500

be aware that the hammer is significantly heavier than a vamo.

That sucks. The engraving on 510 cap is so nice to be useless. I'm getting like 2.8volts on a fresh battery. Brand new, it was around 3.5 volts.

Edit- I'm going to get a pin like I have in the atomo.. adjustable with adjustable positive post. I'll post if I ever figure it out.

your voltage was 3.5v when the batt was new, or when the hammer was new?

When hammer was new on fresh charged battery, 0.7ohms.

its hard to imagine but maybe your contacts lost some conductivity in that amount of time. could be some gunk on there. idk. maybe the spring inside got cockeyed and its not giving its full performance. folks are having luck eliminating the v-drop by using a fixed brass post instead of the spring. of course you lose the ability to flush-mount certain attys, but it might be worth it.

i am with you on the engraving being too nice for it to be trashed. i had a hard time coming to grips with that myself. but with the better performance of the sleek chi you cap, it was 100% worth it for me. plus I dont see the engraving anyway- ive always got an atty on there.

another option that i recommend is the AIOS. it can be a tank or a dripper and you dont need any 510 cap because its got a hybrid connection- so your v-drop is greatly improved. i think you are well aware of the aios, but i seem to bring it up often because of how well it performs and how nice it looks on the hammer (i like it better on the hammer than the chi you. im not a fan of the way it looks on the chi in tank mode).

My brass FT hammer shipped today. I already have a chi you (that I use) but wanted an extra switch so I placed a new order for a brass chi you, top cap and aios. Since I'm a born and bread Roe Dylinder who has never had any luck setting up gennies, I'm hoping you would be friendly and give me some advice when it arrives in August 2017.

Oh anyone have any drip tip recommendations for the hammer?

Nice! I guess you gotta be from RI to even know what Roe Dylin is lol.
Nice move with the AIOS. In dripper mode you can get a nice warm vape with a long legged micro coil. In tank mode, I use 1/16" steel cable with a couple revolutions of 500 mesh. Fits perfectly. Zero leaking regardless of being upright or sideways, etc. for the coil itself, I recommend to go with a micro coil around a 1/16" bit/rod. You'll need a multimeter to test your build- alligator clips on the test leads are great. You can borrow some of my equipment if you need, being a fellow roe dylandah.

Oh and it's a cooler vape in tank mode so I use rainbow sherbet and beverage vapes, like rasp lemonade and mtn dew.
