Got some extra cash for a few new vape toys, and been really interested in the hammer mod clone(I buy what I can afford). I always wear a Mjolnir(Thor's hammer) and to find a mech mod with one engraved into it speaks to me in many ways. Does anyone have experience with it and how it hits? I only have another epipe style mod, the Smoketech epipe gold edition and was not a fan of it as it seems to hit weak and not at all conductive.

I had to mod my tobeco version's firing pin... just shoved a piece of copper in replace of spring for a temporary fix.

There are a couple on here with the hcigar version that aren't getting voltage drop problems, but I only started getting them after owning it for a month.

I love it though. Feels perfect in your hand..flat top 18350, 490, and 650..I love the way a 3d looks on it.

The Hcigar is the one to get without any real issues at all to report.

Keep in mind it was really designed as a 18350 mod. The 510 connection is spring loaded, and as with any spring loaded 510 connection, it's not going to handle uber low resistances well at all.

If you use anything inside of an 18350's amperage territory (> .8Ω) your love it as it comes stock.

If you want it to perform like an 18650 mech, your going to have to replace the 510 cap with a Chi You cap or a Hybrid adapter. A tiny spring loaded 510 pin is too much of a bottle-neck for current flow. This is pretty much true of any mech that uses a spring loaded 510. If you change the top cap, it hits really well, but still not as stellar as something like a copper Nemesis or a Stingray.

In other words, don't buy a Hammer and expect a Stingray. Buy it because it's an awesome and versatile form factor to vape. You dig?

I love my Hammer. Outside of Reos it's the only other mod I'll vape. Great little mech to pick up, vape, and set back down with ease. Really solidified my dislike of tube mods 100%.

Cheers

@Munnin: I have the Chammer by Tobeco and it was possibly the worst investment I've made in my vape lyfe. The reason I bought it was because I didn't want to shell out $300 for a preorder that didn't have the suitable enough batteries (at the time) that could handle subohming very well. The Tobeco clone comes with two extension tubes for 18490 and 18650 batteries. At the time, I wanted to subohm at .3; very few 18350 batteries had an amp limit that could handle that!

Nowadays, Efest makes 18350 batteries that have 10 amp limits. Thank goodness. But yeah, I hate the thing. The floating pin doesn't make connection with my IGO W at all. I tried the authentic Hammer and my IGO W and it works like a charm.

That doesn't mean all tanks/rebuildables won't work with a Chammer, though. My iClear30 worked perfectly with it.

tl;dr: Go for it if you want it.

Eh, oh seems to be a hit or miss depending on which manufacturer I go with. I have heard iffy thing about it due to the 510 pin. I was just curious if it was a deal breaker in a lot of ways. Personally I don't sub ohm often, I have a few setups I use for that and mostly for show. My daily vape consists of Kayfuns at 1.5 ohms on a DNA20 at 18.5 watts.

You'll need to build around .8Ω to get the same vape on a mech.

Avoid the Tobeco version, it's a paperweight. They dropped the ball big time. Mixed experiences have been reported from the fasttech version; so you're maybe taking a gamble with that version.

The Hcigar version is great stock out of the box. I can vouch for that version, been using it awhile now with no problems what-so-ever. Cap performs great above .6Ω - .7Ω. Threads are okay, tube ring can get stuck a bit though, a simple fix with noalox. The batteries slide in and out of the tube and fit perfectly. Silver plated contacts and battery tube.

Like I said, if you want to start rockin' it like an 18650 mech using the extension tubes and putting lower than .6Ω toppers on it, get a replacement cap or a hybrid kit.

I know the builds to get similar results on mechs. I reguraly run .3 loads on my nemesis using Krakens in "auto dripped" set ups. Its not my daily vape by any means, but its in my normal rotation. Just because I'm a new ECF member, I am by no means a vaping newbie.

I am a fan of a lot of Hcigar's merch anyway, I generally only buy their clones anyway unless I can't get a hold of one at a price I'm looking for tether I go ehPro depending on what's available. never had any good luck with a lol to Tobecco stuff.

However, if I do buy this(more for its aesthetics than anything) I will check it out with a replacement cap. Thanks.
