It is nice to see although the Chinese makers are always going to beat America in price due to the materials used and difference in labor costs. Then you have to consider all the money the Chinese government funds to manufacturing.

I see your point there too. Until the dna 40 and the Atlantis came out, everything I bought came from my country and only because there was nothing else like it manufactured here.

That was predicted years ago with all those over-priced limited edition wait listed gears popping left and right.

In this I-want-it-now self-gratification day and age clones are kings...sorry.
I wouldn't call them overpriced. There's a lot more to it. You are looking at large production facilities over seas VS small productions shops. A large shop are will always buy materials at higher volumes which means at a cheaper price. It's generally cheaper materials as well, not to mention cheap Chinese slave labor. They also have all the equipment already paid off VS someone who just opened up shop and is still paying off the equipment. Also total ( or near it) automation VS hand turning on a lathe.

Waiting games, "pre-sales", raffles for spots on lists and Facebook only stores with no contact phone or address....poor customer service....profit maxed limited run items...
These are not characteristics that build a solid reputation.
If these modders knew how to run a business there might not be an issue with clones.
The vape scene is filled with horrible business models.

Whether they are established builders or building out of their parents basement. There are always going to be clones. Even China is being cloned by other Chinese companies. Some are even making clones of clones.
