A wonderful and faithful servant of God, Dumitru Duduman started a christian orphanage in Romania. The need was huge as the people there are incredibly poor and the government only takes care of abandoned children till they are 6 years old. After that, they are on their own. It's a cruel world.

There are currently over 100 children there being raised in the orphanage and surrounded with love every day now.

The orphanage lives on donations, and they are in constant need of the basics, food, shoes, clothes, soap, toys, toothpaste....everything.

You can send in a box of items and when they have enough to fill a large shipping container, it gets shipped to Romania on a boat and distributed to the children.

If you're like me, you have a spirit of wanting to help, but sometimes not sure what to do, or where to send it. Or, you're leary of sending money somewhere, well here is a good alternative.......send shoes and clothes!

I know the people here are loving and giving, so I just wanted to pass this info along in case anyone was interested.

I knew you would!!!!! I'm starting a box, and everytime I go to the store I'm picking something up for the box. When it's full, I'll send it to their office in the USA. When they get enough to fill a cargo container, they ship it over to Romania. The folks there are so poor, some even freeze to death in the winter because of no blankets. I mean severe poverty, things that we here in the USA can't really even grasp. I look forward to the day when every person has enough and nobody is ever hungry or cold ever again.

I'm putting candy in my box........lol. Imagine never having any candy? Every child should have candy!

I do the life-like dolls that I sell on eBay, so I have more baby clothes than than 'babies r' us'...
OOH! baby blankets would be good also!
That's a wonderful idea Lisa... just purchase an item to donate every time you go to the store.

Be careful about sending chocolate candy....it melts so easily in the summer months. Hard candy might be the way to go. Just a thought!
