We drove through NY and down to Trenton then back here when I was a little yonker. When we went through Hampton NY we picked up this turtle and brought him home. He lived outside as long as I can remember. Glad your having a great time Fran and I put a new graphics card in my PC today so I will be able to see the pics better. Sure did speed up the PC.

We found this place totally by accident. Our plan was to stay in Binghamton but it turned out to be a big city with the hotels right in the middle of it. Not our cup of tea so we moved on about 30 miles and took an exit. First thing we saw was this really rustic looking hotel with an equaly rustic looking bar/restaurant beside it. It didn't look that fancy but it did look really expensive. We drove up the street and found a Super 8 but decided to come back here and check prices first. Turned out to be very avg. priced. Pretty neat place. I took a couple side pics.
We'll be moving up to Lake George today...our last stop before home. Weather says 76 and sunny...........

That sounds like me Fran! I'll take the rustic over Super 8 any day :)

Upper 70s here today, I got my face sunburned working out in the yard  MIL had a massive maple tree stump ground so I am working on spreading all the mulch from it in all the flower beds and under the shrubs. Got re-acquainted with the business end of an ax today taking out an old dead shrub...I probably won't be able to move tomorrow LOL. Feels good to get outside and do some real stress burning work tho!

Fran, your trip sounds like it is going well and can't wait to see the photos. Glad you found a little bit of "rustic" in upstate NY. It really isn't hard to do as long as you stay out of the cities in between. I grew up about 45 minutes from NYC, but spent much time upstate while growing up and spent a year of college just outside of Rochester. There are tons of really beautiful spots in upstate NY!

When I first got to Colorado for college I met a person who heard I was from NY. They did not ask which part of NY, but they wanted to know what I thought of the the trees in Colorado! I found this an odd question so when I asked why, they said they assume I have never seen one. LOL, the house I grew up sat in front of 20 or so acres of deep woods and although I was not far from NYC, the place I grew up in, doesn't look much different then right here in Montana (minus the 360 degree view of Mountains of course.)

Bov, make sure to take care of that sunburn with lots of lotion.

No chance of getting a sunburn here, we are in the middle of a winter storm warning and when I last looked out the window before the sun went down I couldn't see but a foot or so out... White out conditions, yuck. The weather forcast for the week is Wind / Rain / Snow (so far haven't seen any of the rain, but plenty of wind and snow) Not the best weather for healing so I am hoping the antibiotics I would have sold my soul for 2 days ago start to kick in and do their job!

Geeeeeeeezzzzzzzz Moo have you had any break in the cold and snow at all? I don't think I'd like it there at all. I thought our
summers where short but it sounds like yours aren't long at all.
Our forecast is for 80 degrees here and at home for today and tomorrow so we'll get home in time to enjoy the tail end of the freaky warm spell. 40's on Sunday.........Yuck.

Moo, feel better soon!! Just consider your weather an omen to stay inside to heal!

This early spring we're having will most likely turn around and bite us in the .... All the trees and flowers are popping out a full month early, so I expect we'll have at least one more cold spell that will hurt everything that's in bloom. Sadly that includes this year's apple and peach crops here.

I have a Dr. appt. this Friday for this lingering crud, and to have a mole looking thing on the back of my thigh removed. Damn thing decided to grow and change over the last couple of months so I'm sure they'll want to biopsy it.

Enjoy the rest of your journey Fran!!

Summers are short, but usually beautiful. The best part is the days in the summer are so very long (it can stay light out until about 11pm) This winter however has seemed to last forever as we really didn't have a summer last summer, it was chilly and rainy all but one week of the summer, so it is feeling like we are at the end (hopefully) of a two year winter.

But the snow still keeps coming, so who knows!
