Yay!! Yay!!! I won! I won!........Doing a happy dance!!!! This has been a great beginning to the new year!! I wake up and find DaveOno hadn't passed out at all and Seapup was serious not seriously drunk.

I won that first day I signed back into the ECF forums and I struck gold when I found friends like all of you. Y'all have a great support system here in the Halo threads and I am very proud that I get to be apart of it.

We are smoke free in 2014!

We are Halons!

We are family!

Thank you DaveOno for giving us this contest and something to do on New Year's Eve, your heart and giving spirit never ceases to amaze me. And Seapup your generosity is touching and fills my spirit. I promise you both I'm going to pay it forward and have the same giving spirit that you have shown me. Thank you both so much.

I guess we will have to wait 72 hours to see if Wheezal made through the new year with us? :p

It's hard to post from Central Booking, but he'll be back. It's Mistress AngiBe I thought we wouldn't hear from in a week!!!

I am not bragging by any means so don't take this the wrong way but I do not miss hangovers and the "... did I do last nights" whatsoever. Not drinking was a personal decision that I made close to two years ago... I am an extremist. Always have been. I wish I could have done things responsibly and wasted many years trying to. I applaud those of you who can have a few and then walk away. For me, it has been the best year and some odd months of my life. Around the time I quit drinking I took up bodybuilding. I lost 50 lbs and learned how to take charge of my body. As my lifts increased and the routines got tougher, I noticed one thing not improving....I couldn't breath... Now I have added not smoking stinkies to the list. Sitting here this morning I am just extremely grateful for the changes I have gone through. Along with it being the best "months" of my life, it has also been some of the most challenging. Changing habits that were part of who I was. The self doubt. The uphill fight..... And here lately most things challenging are just mental.

So my hope for all of you is that you persue whatever it is you have a passion for and that you keep on fighting whatever it is you deem worthy of a fight. I am gonna be burying my 3 week old nephew on Friday and he never got those opportunities. His mother, my sister is heartbroken over this and all I can offer her is a hug that doesn't wreak of cigarette smoke and my prayers that she will in fact use this as a flame inside her heart to know that he is with her...always...

Sorry for the rambling....Happy NEW YEAR guys!

I am very proud of you for the accomplishments you have already achieved in your life. Stopped drinking, getting your body fit and healthy and now stopped smoking. Each of these accomplishments by theirselves is huge and you have managed to do all 3 where most people can't do 1 of those. I'm so so proud of you!!

I hope you'll be there for me when I try to accomplish the same thing. I don't drink alcohol but I drink diet mountain dew like an alcoholic crack ..... and I want to get fit and healthy in 2014. You've got experience here and I would appreciate any advice. Kicking nicotine is hard but kicking caffiene is going to be really hard for me.

And my heart breaks for your family. I'd like to say it gets better but I can't not for a long time. It took me the aunt to get over being angry at losing my nephew 9 years and it took my brother even longer and it destroyed his marriage. I'll be here for you if you need a friend or want advice for your sister. The first advice I can give to you is let your sister rant, rave and hit something and hug her and hold her. She is shattered on the inside and needs to be held together for awhile. It feels like a piece of your soul has been ripped away. My second piece of advice is in about 2 months when they start blaming each other and believing it .... their marriage is over, I don't know the exact curcumstances of your loss, but if their marriage is worth saving they can't blame each other. Right now you are all in grief and saddness and feel the shock of loss but soon comes anger and this is the hardest to get past. I promise I'll be here for you just mentally prepare yourself it will be a long road for your family. You and your family will be in my prayers always.

So, a day later, and this place is deserted!!!

That was fun, reading this post. And Evie, you are right. The Halon nation is unique. Lots of friends, laughs, advice, tears, saran, and checking my Firefox, the most visited site on my pc.

And I approach 100 days, and I think I'm losing my sense of taste.

sigh

it's not a joke, I was wondering what gardeners and the like, people who work outside do when there's a foot of snow on the ground.

Lol, in Michigan they put plows on the trucks and clean parking lots for stores or use employees to shovel sidewalks.
