Went to a bar in Mansfield, MA to see a band. I went outside to the smoking area to use my e-cig. I, unfortunately, only had my m401 black battery with blue led on me. I vaped away minding my own business when the bouncer came up to me and in a not very nice way demanded to know what I was doing. I explained it and he just said, "And how do I know that's what you're doing? You could say that its just nicotine but you're actually doing drugs with that." It wasn't a pleasant experience.

At the end of the night, all the bar lights come on, but the bar is full of people finishing their drinks. Bouncer walks right up to my group, stands over me and says, "Let's go, the night's over, time to go." I nod as I finish my drink making a point to look around at all the people still present. He continues to stand by me and then follows us to the door.

I'm in a strange town in strange bar so my friends and I aren't going to cause a problem, but annoying nonetheless.

This thing is never going to be socially acceptable.

apparently you haven't been around a lot of bouncers before............tell him to get bent. Bouncers have no friends and no future. They are bouncers to feed their ego's. They only hang around people who are bouncers, so they can talk about bouncing and go home late at night a wa,nk off while watching roadhouse.

Probably knew you were from RI....(pause)
Just kidding

Honestly I don't think PVs will ever be socially acceptable totally
especially this day and age where it seems like just about everything isn't socially acceptable. I think it went from one extreme to the other.
That pretty much sums it up (for me that is)

some say the glass is half empty
others say the glass is half full
I say I need some more beer :p

Palming the pv to cover the LED or using a pen cap, goes a long way in public. I was using my jantystick the other day taking a walk outside at work and some jerk came up to me and said "You know they drug test here, right?" In typical smart .... form I replied "Yeah, but I stopped running horse last month, so I should pissing clean by now." He wasnt amused and muttered something about having some nerve to smoke that at work. To be fair, the JS does look a lot like a cannabis pipe, guess people just notice that and ignore the fact they dont see it constantly being lit by flame.

a bouncer tried kicking me out for smoking (before i quit) in a bar before the smoking ban was in place. he grabbed me by the collar and tried dragging me. i punched him and he chucked me out with a bloody nose. then the police where called :( i ran away though. but i agree bouncers try and use as much power as possible.

My response to his question about what it contains would have been along the lines of "Then I guess you better call the cops huh ?"......

If I'm planning to use my PV in a public place I'll usually "try" and FIRST approach those in charge and quickly explain what I'm doing/using. Just makes things easier in the long run. Sometimes it helps while other times is a waste of vocal cords explaining..... especially a Neanderthal, juice jacked gym addict like a bouncer !!

You did the right thing. For some reason people assume these are/can be used for drugs. It's as if they don't think a regular cigarette can be used to take drugs.

In your bushes, watching you undress
Next time just kick his ....

Bouncers respond well to aggression. By smacking a barstool or chair over his back he will recognize that he was wrong, ans respect you for pointing it out to him in a manner that he more easily understands than just by simply "talking" to him. Bouncers don't like to talk.

I agree Greg.

If I'm ever approached with that attitude, my first statement will be, "You are more than welcome to call the Police"

God, people are idiots. What kind of device do they think they're looking at that "smokes" with an LED light? I think it will eventually be socially acceptable, but right now people are just not informed. There are still people who do not know how to use a computer. Technology takes time. Every time I see somebody outside smoking analogs, I feel sorry for them. I work a very progressive studio and the owners are totally supportive of me using the ecig. I vape right in the reception area. Staff and clients are supportive of my efforts to be tobacco free. The public will come around

Ugh meh no likes you bashing bouncers! *BULLSMASH!*
JOKING BTW!

I am a former bouncer I did it for fun and pocket money, hell not drinking or spending money, getting to pick up hot drunk chicks, fist fighting ever once in a blue moon (ok not starting them but ending them). OH and going to kick ... clubs and not having to pay cover and or drink min.
Whats not to love, free after hours drinks and knowing the cops have nabbed all the ......ed drunk drivers, and your 2 hours of free booze will not get you caught.
Kinda like vaping all the goodness not all the crap, and no one holding a drunken grudge at the end of the night waiting to stab you.

not sure i agree with trying to conceal what you're doing by hiding it or palming the light, as it makes it more suspicious, you know?

make it clear what you're doing and that you're not trying to be sneaky, it will evoke less suspicion. would someone be so brazen as to stand in public smoking drugs?? really?

maybe the bouncer thought you were cute.
