Greetings from Doc Allan...

I've been browsing through a lot of these forum messages for a while now, trying to educate myself on the art of vaping! This, being my first post, seems like a great time to introduce myself.

I am a retired "Life-Long" trucker living in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I've smoked 3 packs of cigarettes a day for over 20 years, drank a million cups of coffee and ate in every "Greasy Spoon" from coast to coast in Canada & the US. After 2 heart attacks, 4 stents, 1 heart surgery and another one pending... I've managed to cut back to 1 pack a day!

A few months ago, a friend introduced me to the first "True Alternative" to analog cigarettes (for me at least). Finally, a device that resembled the taste of a real cigarette (pretty close anyway), created great vapor and had a decent throat hit! He gave me a website address (I won't mention which one... unless you ask me!). After doing some intense research, I ended up ordering a
Joytech eGo-C type B Starter kit with (2) eGo-C Upgrade batteries (1000 mAh)
. It took me a while to figure out which e-juice I liked the best, and settled for a 12mg "Fire-Cured Virginia Tobacco" with an occasional drop or two of cinnamon flavoring!!

Okay... so now I am totally hooked on vaping! With a little more research, I ended up ordering a couple of the new e-Go CC Clearomizers. Everything's going great... I'm a happy "Constant" vaper (I almost sleep with it)! Wait a minute... now that I'm thinking about it... I DO SLEEP WITH IT!!

Seriously though... I am a very heavy vaper. From the time my eyes open in the morning till I lay back down to sleep, I'm vaping every minute of the day. It never leaves my hands. There's always a battery on the charger, ready to go and I'm suckin' back over 30 ml of e-juice a week! Is that normal? Can someone please tell me I haven't lost my mind?? Here's the good news though... I'm down to 4-5 analogs per week now!:p

So now I'm thinking it's time for me to get serious, and upgrade to a, shall we say... "Heavier Duty Device". Although I'm content with the setup I have now, I get this feeling I'm missing out on something. Not enough flavor, not enough vapor... I don't know.
Anyway, I'm thinking about getting a Provari VV with a couple of 18650 (2000 mAh) batteries.

So here's a question for anyone familiar with the Provaris... without having to go to a "rebuildable" tank like the Z-Atty-Pro... can anyone recommend a good cartomizer, clearomizer or tank that will work well with this unit? It seems everything I've read (user's reviews) on any of these items... SUCK Big Time!
If I'm going to spend big bucks on a mod like the Provari... I'd sure like to have a tank or clearomizer of at least the same quality. I don't think I'm asking too much. All I want is a unit I can fill up often and clean occasionally!
Any Ideas??

So without further adieu... here's to all the happy vapers out there...
Till next time...

Doc

First, welcome! Second, sounds like maybe you should get your liquid with more nicotine, 12mg is fairly low. Third, IBTanked seem like the go-to cartotanks. Or the new Aero Tank from Kanger looks nice if you want a bottom coil design, but with the Provari I think a nice cartotank would serve you better. Artemas tanks aren't very expensive on a place like MadVapes if IBTanked seems a bit pricey.

Greetings Allen, 30ml a day... When i first read that it made me LOL out loud, i was like: "Holy cow this guy vapes alot". Then i did the math, thats a little over 4ml a day and i was like heck, i vape about that much but im on 24mg per ml. So for as much nicotine as your used too, id say up the anty! Get yourself some 24mg and try it. If your completely content with the amount you vape and the nicotine your recieving then stick with it! Otherwise, it wouldnt hurt to try some 24!

There is one tank that I like as far as the smaller ones go ( Evod style) and that is the CE8 Stainless Steel Mesh unit, fills from the top, holds about 2.5 ml tho, the first tank of juice has a odd taste till it breaks in ( I put in 1ml to break it in, didnt waste a whole tank) but it works quite well very little gurgle if any at all, no wick burnt taste, but it will let you know when getting low on juice. As far as this type of tank, Im very happy with it, since Ive been using it, I put the Protank, Evod, Bulb into the retirement home (box)...

Looks like an ssmesh filler system; so how long does an atomizer head last you;

almost a carto system

LULU836, ha ha, I looked at your avatar and was like, I don't remember posting in here. LOL.

Anyhow. I love carto tanks. Once you learn how to prime them and get the right tools to change the carto without emptying the tank, you will love them.

I have a funny feeling I finally found out what the 'slap yo mama' tool is for!

I was a heavy duty smoker, as well. Minimum 2 packs a day. Your story reminds me of me in some ways. I cut back but it wasn't until I finally bought the Provari and I got carto tanks that I managed to totally quit. In your case, it sounds imperative that you quit sooner than later. You should be really proud of yourself for getting down to just a few cigs a week!!!!! I think a great device and good carto/tanks will get you over the hump.

Here is my favorite:

I like that you can unscrew the doodad and refill without trying to pop the tank up. I use Smoketek single coil, double punched cartos.

Single Coil XL Tank replacement 510 cartomizer for 3.5 and 6ml SmokTank XL, UDCT, Artemas - w/flange and 1, 2 or 3 holes.

One caveat - I used to buy this tank from another place but that guy went out of business due to health reasons. Seemed like such a nice person, he made sure to get his product to another company and I haven't dealt with them before. I did email them and they emailed back promptly which bodes well for customer service.

I like the larger size since you do usually want to refill before it gets too low or it can leak.

Pretty sure you could vape a carto tank in zero G. :p

If you're still touching the analogues I'd recommend picking up a bottle of higher nic juice as others have said. Suck on that for a few minutes when the thought of an analog enters your mind. The aspect I had the most trouble with is that vaping is not as immediate a fix as smoking an analog is. When the cravings start there is no super quick fix that won't set you back to old habits.

Oh and,welcome aboard!
