so, im new to vaping. I got a joyetech AIO a month ago and have been having some problems with it. It seems like every other time I replace the coil, I have issues. I prime the coil by putting five drops of e-juice in it and let it sit for a few minutes. Upon using the new coil, it's hard to draw from the vape, and the taste is really muted. Does anyone know why this could be happening?

Sounds like it's just taking a bit for the new coil to break in. On a new factory coil it might take vaping a few mls before it gets to its consistent happy place. Is it in fact better in a day or so after replacement?
Honestly I don't know because I tossed them assuming that they were duds. I have to draw on it so hard it makes my head hurt after 15 minutes of it. But, I'll give it a while and see if it straightens itself out.

The top ring of the aio has two dots or indentations. One on the outside ring and one on the inside where the mouthpiece goes in. if the two dots are lined up or opposite (180 degrees) that's full open airflow...at 90 degrees it's restricted (but never fully closed).

Also check the mouthpiece. I don't use the grey one that has a spiral inside, but that might be clogged. Try the clear one that is more open.

check your airflow control... ;)

hmmm must be airflow control... everyone else has mentioned it :)
I actually did check the airflow! (Come on guys, I'm not that much of a newb.) it doesn't seem to be that. I checked to make sure the tip isn't clogged. It happens only when I replace the coil. When I put the old coil back in, the pull I get is fine (but the coils bad because I'm starting to get that burnt taste). I'm stumped.

If you are using the high resistance coil the airflow will be more restricted than the 0.6 ohm coil.

Cheers.
Okay...I have no idea what this means. The coil I was using before that I didn't have an issue with was kind of open on the bottom and had what looked like betting on the bottom. The ones I've been having issues with are the ones that have a hole on the bottom and not the netting.

Can you look at the coil you have and compare to picture?
Let us know if you can.

Don't have that tank but you haven't mentioned what ratio you vape at. I'm a 100%VG guy myself and I accepted long ago that I don't vape on anything that doesn't first sit untouched for a night, after priming the coil with a couple drops, and I usually spend the night hitting it without firing to make sure the juice is getting into the coil. Just a thought if you're very high VG percentage.
