there you go, now i have one mod that will TC anything(it's a squonker), but most are limited to only being able to use TC with certain types of wire... Ni(nickel), Ti(titanium), or SS316L (stainless steel)... so you need to use coils if they are factory made that are one of those 3 metals for the wire... or buy those types of wire if you get into building, if you do that? get some 28g SS316L.. easiest wire for size and it can be used in both TC or watts, and is nice and clean tasting(doesn't add flavour like some others occasionally do).
I have one Ni200 and one Ti coil lying around that came with the EGO one tank. I'm gonna try those. Also gonna get some SS316L wire if TC works well. I plan to use it to build the CLR coils to start with. Just one thing I'm not sure about. 28g SS316L will have much lower resistance than 28g Kanthal and will draw more power. So will it produce same amount of vapor (same gauge) or more vapor (higher power)?

to be honest, i don't really notice the difference, especially in TC other than taste. i find even though the SS has a lower res, if you built, you might add an extra wrap or two depending on the size of the coil... the ramp up i find is actually faster to me(i have no real way of accurately testing), and worth it to me for the ease of use.

basically when i drive i switch what mods i can, and i drive a lot, to TC mode to prevent issues. right now i have the new alien 220 and a baby beast tank, today i switched it from the kanthal coils that came with the RBA that was a dual coiled spaced 5 wraps (each side)26-27g clapton, to my own build of tighter 7 wraps(each side) 28g SS claptons .. they both worked out in the .45 ohms ... now i'm running my mod in TC and am happy with it. so when not driving i can set it to my usual 35w and when driving switch it to TC and avoid those nasty dry hits.

i enjoy building, some don't... lol my hubby comes home and basically hands me his device when he empties a tank with an RBA coil, i rebuild it or depending on the tank(some we have spares for) he replaces the coil himself with a RBA i already built or a factory coil. it's just not his thing, he's happy if it works... and so far it's been i've upgraded a tank or a mod, and he ends up doing the same after he tries mine. he doesn't do TC or anything, i'm sure he will eventually... once he learns the benefits and the costs... it can kill a battery faster depending on the device, but we only use ones with removable batteries and have spares.

I too like to rebuild but I don't really have much time because of my job and other responsibilities so I just keep it simple. Smoking used to be much simpler for me but thank God I got into vaping.

i build my own comps, so it wasn't a far step for me to get into the building... basically what i do is once a week or two i build a bunch of coils and if possible RBAs... then when needed it takes me 5 mins or less to change coils and rewick. most of the time though? i will change the coils only if damaged, instead i just clean the coils(make them warm and rinse under water a few times or scrub with a soft brass bristled brush and rinse) and rewick takes about 2 mins. the coils last far longer than the wicks and it's the wicks that usually get burned or taste bad.

Speaking of building stuff, how bad is your graveyard? I threw away like 15 coils yesterday [emoji23]

U know what, i dont think ive ever popped a coil.

Didnt know if you kept your cotton tail trimmings from you freshly re wick. Maybe keeping them to make a blanket when you get enough cotton saved up (not the used cotton, just fresh)

What is the "coil graveyard" and "cotton hill"?

Dont tell me you keep finger/toe nail clippings in a jar....

It's just easier to get rid of all the junk at once rather than taking bits of wire and ruined coils and the waste cotton to the bin. I have a lil bin on my workstation which actually is an empty q-tip can [emoji23]

What I taste on my (little) tanks is I can easily go 8 seconds, but the flavor goes from cold to right to a little dry and hot. But let up on fire for 1/2 second after about 5 seconds and it's right for another 3-4 seconds and this can be repeated as long as I want (with the added advantage of fooling/telling the puff timer there's a human here). With my RDA it's mainly MtL but if I want to direct lung a bit it needs be later in the hit. The point is, temperature would ideally be constant but it's not. As long as this doesn't happen uncomfortably fast you can taste it happening and control it however.

    That's a neat trick. It's like manual TC :D
