Harshness

I hope someone is able to understand what I mean and help out.

One of the reasons I started diy is because many of the liquids are too harsh or sharp for me.

Making my own by mixing in some VG, haven't gone all vg yet, has helped taking the edge of the PG. Maybe I should try going all VG, but I always forget to bring along destilled water from the store.

Using inawera flavours btw.

Some flavours just don't do it for me. Mostly more of the dry flavors are great, coffee, chocolate and mocca. But many of the other still have that sharp and harsh feeling when I vape. It's numbing my tongue as well as hurting my throat.

Is there anything I can use to change this? I made a small batch of apple with 1% of flavouring. Which was great, the taste was very light though, and I figured I should make the new batch at 2%. I made it a few days ago, fast steeped it in hot water and shook it a couple of times for a while. Never let it sit with the cap off though. But it has that harshness again and I can hardly taste the apple through it. I know it's there, but the harshness overrules it.

Is there anything I can do or add to take away that harshness? And does anyone recognize what I am talking about?

Maybe I am just oversensitive, I don't know. But I do know I do not like it. I know I can order some sour from TFA to bring out the apple some more. So is there something I can use to take away that harshness?

The cocopilada and wild strawberry from inawera are unvapeble for me for the same reason. As well as a lot of my premixed liquids by dekang and meiyi. I would love to be able to enjoy these.

It could be the PG or the nic or the voltage you are using. I would first try 100% VG without nic, and see if that helps. Then add in your nic without flavor, then add one flavor at a time and see how that sits with you. What voltage are you using? If you are using anything over 3.7 volts or a LR atty/carto I would also see if that might be causing you issues. I know when my thought is sore I can not vape anything but menthol, and a SR helps to calm down the "sting"

Also, if you are very sensitive, maybe the sour flavor wont be your best bet.

I would not be without the Bitter Wizard and MTS Vape Wizard by Flavor Art. I do not have the AAA mask yet because I am not sure if I need it as I don't make acidic flavors. They are supposed to mellow out the harsh notes particularly fruit and tobacco ones. I was about to throw in the towel until I found these helpers.

I use 6 mg/ml. It's not the nic nor the base as I've vaped those pure. Generally use 2 parts of PG to 1 part of VG.

Using a joyetech ego-t set A type. Also got some cartos, but prefer to use the tanks. Not working with dripping yet.

I definately need the sour though, the more sour the better. I love sour tastes, maybe not to vape, but won't know until I try.

I'll try the FA's pH minus and bitter wizard. as well as inaweras own Sharp taste. Thought it was something to add a sharper taste, but on one of the German forums it is said to be a reducer. Worth a try.

And will try not to forgey to pick up some destilled water while at the store, to thin the vg.

Maybe it is just me, but I find sour flavors to be harsh as a general rule.

When I am in the mood for a harsher vape I mix up some sweet tart.

Anyone else have the same effect? (I ask because the OP might be going in a direction that they don't want to go?)

Yeah I find the same thing to be true for me as well. That is why I said sour might not be the best bet.

I didn't want your wise words to get buried. But is seemed as if we are the only two that were thinking along those lines and I wondered if that is true. Do others find sour tastes to be a smoother vape? (It boggles my taste buds, the very thought.)

Could very well be the sour. I'll just have to play around, and try some more flavours before I can be sure of that though.

So anything able to bind/suppress the sour notes? Of should I just find flavors with little sour notes in them?

It's not a dry wick, as I know what that tastes like.
Using an ego-T by the way, also got some carts, but tend the use the tanks most of the time.

Got the 'Sharp Taste' by Inawera some time ago. It tastes really awful, even at one drop per 10 ml. And after steeping for a week. Going to try it at 1 drop per 30 ml, now.

Guess I really do need to try the f'art one. Probably next month or so, would love to order it now, but whenever I try there are like 20 different flavours I want as well, which gets quite expensive. ;) And just placed a big order at healthcabin since I couldn't resist with their current sale.
