Has any one tried steel wool as a filler?

Sorry for a second post. But further, could a small ball be made of steel wool and gently stuffed into just the top of the cartrige leaving the rest of the chamber mostly empty...to increase the amount of fluid held?

use search and "Steel wool" ... many have tried, some concerns... as far as I can say it's looking promising but I will wait and see how it turns out

I don't think that is steel wool that you see in the atty I think it is another material...unless there are different types of steel wool

I tried it ...I sure wouldn't recommend it, mainly because there is danger of little bits breaking off and being inhaled. Not worth the risk.
I even tried different sizes of electrical wire all bunched and bundled up, you can sort of get it to work but it's not much good.

Steel wool is NOT what you see in there. If it were to come into direct contact with the glowing hot coil it would ignite! (I just tested this with an old cartomizer atty to check my theory and it holds true)
That is a type of metal foam, I am not sure what metal it is, but I am sure I have seen the actual details somehwere here in the forums if you search for it.
But, anyway - please don't actually try it. If it gets anywhere near to being dry at all - it will be quite the show

yes I posted a link on this thread to another thread talking about it
another thing to add it can ignite even when it's wet and though eliquid isn't flamable(i think) the ignition could be big enough to do damage since
1 atty would be so close to face
2 atty is close to battery as well
I still can't remember the material in the atty that you see, but I know it isn't steel wool
