bit personal

:ohmy::laugh:

I've never popped one when vaping. I have had to retighten a screw once or twice. I have popped a coil when dry burning. It actually snapped on the leg section.

My first wrap on husband's RM2 resulted in a pinched and then snapped leg after tightening down the screw. I think the screw had a bit of a sharp edge that cut the wire. I've since recoiled it and it's been fine. Now that his coiling has been turned over to him, I guess it's been okay.

I have done that twice now since I got my Reomizer. I keep forgetting to just snug it up. It is so easy to snap that wire when tightening the screws down.

I have not LT. The longest I've been able to abstain from rebuilding is about a month :)

A month? Damn. Mine rewick every day, with a recoil every 3-4. TemCo is loving me right now!

Although lately I've been getting a nasty taste with my cotton wicks. Taste wet and.. So I run through my checklist:

Clean, dry hands? Check. I wash my hands before every build and/or rewick.
Clean, dry cotton? Check.
Clean atty? Check.

I wrap my coil, secure it in the atty, and dry fire it/squeeze it together with tweezers. Then I wick. Not too full, but not too loose. Saturate, wait 5-10 mins, and fire. Blech.

As a result, the one clean tasting RM2 I have is just sitting here, not getting rebuilt until I figure this out. Kinda bummed though. Any ideas?

Directly over. Any closer and I would short on the edges of the airhole.

I'm thinking it's with the cotton. Maybe when I'm rolling the wick I get skin cells or oils or something on it? Maybe it's this areas nasty water and trace amounts are getting in there? (The water here is not advised for drinking, due to an overabundance of cancer causing chemicals in it.)

Is it just flavor that's bad? Is the TH and vapor production good? Define "Blech", please. For me, the flavor doesn't fully kick in until I've burned through a few MLs with a new wick and/or coil.

The vapor and TH are there, it's the flavor. Like I was vaping really wet cotton. You know the smell of a flooded basement? That is the flavor I'm getting.

That's awful! What cotton are you using? Does the clean tasting one have the same juice? Your wick should be saturated but not swimming in juice. Are the coils burning evenly? How many wraps? Just thinking out loud here.

I was thinking along simular lines. Could it be your cotton? It is possible something got on it. Could try boiling it. Might be worth getting some new cotton to try.

I have hornets, original Reomizer, and a Reomizer2 and never had that happen with any of my coils before. (Been coiling since January, husband just got his REO set up a few weeks ago) So I was very surprised! Took me a minute to find the error. :D
