More than once, I'm a slow learner.
More the ends of mesh wicks than coils tho, so only very painfull, not excruciating.

Built a micro coil once, dry fired it, then blew on it to cool before wicking, blew to close and burnt lip....so yep
Depends on where you live I guess. In North Dakota it was absolutely a warning. Much was made of how you DON’T want to tear your tongue loose but must instead heat up the piece of metal to the point where your tongue melts off again. Much was made of the amount of blood involved if this was not done.Laughed at that many a times, lol. Didn't know it was supposed to be a warning. Had bloody good ice-cream that evening, followed by hot coffee on it in the morning, as I had forgotten. Always sumptin...
Welded their lip to a hot coil???
This I have also done.Nope, I honestly never did that, but I got close a couple of times
I did once burn a copy of my coil into a finger,

which is still a really good reminder to not rebuild a rda when I've had a couple of drinks![]()
I bet your first thought wasn't, "Oh, I wish I hadn't done that!"Nope, I honestly never did that, but I got close a couple of times

I hear you on this....I'm so careful now when I snip the the coil because I have stepped on them and it's no fun. When you see builds on YouTube, they just let them flyThere's only one thing worse than stepping on a piece of wire in bare feet...the missus stepping on a tiny piece of wire in her bare feet. Who knew a tiny piece of wire could cause so much earache?

Single doesn’t help. A lot of em have cats. Frequently more than one. (Notices there is no “looking guilty emoji) I’ve found that neodymium magnets work wonders for cleaning up wire bits. They’ll get stuff you can’t even see. Stick a couple to a screwdriver or something and just wave it closely over the area. They must be single.

Not your magnets, it's the ss.I just tried that on my SS 316 wire and the magnet doesn't come close to grabbing it.
Might work better with Kanthal though, or maybe I don't have good magnets.
