Has anyone clearanced the VAMO for a T3?

I've got a used VAMO on its way at the moment. I would really like to use the multiple T3 Minis I typically have loaded with juice (for stealthy pocket-friendly vaping at work). Supposedly the VAMO will accept the Stardust type clearos without a problem, but not the T3. The T3's are only a tiny bit bigger than the Stardusts... so, being your typical do-it-yourselfer, my first thought was "hell, why can't I just clearance the drip well?"

Has anyone done this? Is it even possible? Like I said, I don't even have the VAMO in my hands yet, but it doesn't seem like it should be impossible...

I took a look at it, and it just misses by thaaaaat much. You could, if you're a handy person, probably nudge off the tiny bit of extra metal.

I'm not that handy. My solution is to use a 510 to eGo connector and run the T3 on that.

I've had piss poor luck with 510-ego adaptors. Sounds like once it gets here... it's Dremel time!

I thought the T3 threaded onto the outside of the eGo threads and wasn't a 510 thread.

The Vamo also has the Ego thread (outside thread) as well as the 510 thread, but the inner diameter of the drip well is just a little to small for the T3 to fit inside.

I was thinking of putting my Vamo on my metal lathe just need to get power ran to the shop building.

Yeah, I just checked Phil's review and it indeed does have the eGo cone thread.

it has the threading but wont fit in the well...with an adapter it fits and works fine

I really HATE 510-ego adapters.

I'll be grinding mine down when it gets here. I'll be sure to post the results too. Time spent, how well it works, and of course, pictures.

Yeah, all the adapters I've used on my vamo with the T3 stripped really easily. Very poorly made. Would be nice if somebody made a quality adapter.

The ones I've used are just too small (510 male thread) and wobble really bad. I just don't feel like I should have to use an adapter to use such common parts and pieces.

The eVod will fit but because the clearance is so low, there's no airflow. Still need the adapter. Sorry! It would be nice to see new heads come out for the Vamo to replace the current design that *would* accept the larger eGo-threaded devices....

Dug through all of my dremel bits, and the clearance between the body and the ego threads is so small, I don't feel confident enough to try making more room, as I don't want to knick the threads... so for now, no T3's on the Vamo... :-(

I'm using adapters from Carolina Vapes, PV Adapters - 510batt-to-EGOatty. They aren't wobbly and the threads work perfectly fine on both my VAMOs.

I don't think this would work, simply because the air holes are on that ego threading. You'd have to get enough clearance to screw the T3 on and then at least a few millimeters more. The drip well skirting isn't that wide, i feel like if you shimmed too much, that drip well might break off... I wouldn't be comfortable with that. Now, trimming the T3 itself, that might be an option.

I didn't do didley but screw on the adapter. The threads on the adapter don't go up far enough to block the T3 air hole. My T3 works fine.

Why not just mod the base of the t3's? Much cheaper to replace if something goes wrong.

And you would also have to do it to EVERY new T3 base you install when they burn out. No thanks.
