I am a exclusive Mega Atty user now, and love it! However, I noticed all cartridges are not the same especially when buying from different suppliers when it comes to the filler..

Anyway, I used to only use cartoz and drip with a drip tip so I have never used the blue foam mod before and dont know where to begin.

If you have done this with a mega cartridge, please let me know how it is done. Also, is there any specific brand of foam I should look for?

I have a couple of the Mega attys and carts that I haven't used yet but when I do, I am going to go with the blue foam mod that I saw here a couple of months ago. Wish I could find it again, but the fellow said it works great. Basically what he did was fill the cart with juice, leaving the original filler in place. Compress it down until the juice begins to ooze to the top. Then he added a square of blue foam on top of the original filler. Press the blue foam down to soak up some juice or add drops to it so it isn't dry. With a new atty, naturally you want to prime the atty with a few drops.

I will probably end up removing all the polyfil and replacing it with blue foam if that doesn't work. I just haven't figured out how to pack it in the cart yet to get the correct amount of fill and compression. Maybe roll it? Its gonna have to fit the cart opening completely to keep it from leaking.

Anyway, there is a specific blue foam that is recommended. Its available at most Petsmart stores. Walmart did not have it.

It is Marineland brand, Rite size U. Comes in a pack of 3. The other sizes are a completely different type of foam, so it has to be Rite size U. It is in a sleeve configuration. Just cut open down one side and unfold it. Wash it well with hot/warm water and dish soap to remove unwanted flavors and the antibacterial agent on it. Rinse well and let dry. One pack should last a long time. Cost: 7 to 9 bucks.

I use this stuff in all my regular carts too only sans polyfil.

Edit: Found it in the cart mod threads

Having no problems with the blue foam, just cut it a hair wider than the cart and just a litte shorter that TWICE as long as the cart, fold in half and stick in. As the top gets a little funny looking, I trim a little off the top and resuff back in. The main thing to NOT do is set the e-cig on the battery top(juice leaks down ward sometimes). Have had not problems laying it on it's side.

Use the Blue foam and Fluval on my Mega Carts. Cut it wide on top for plugging effect and narrow going down for wicking action. Some times in a "T" shape and some times in a "V" shape. All shapes have worked good for me. When the foam is new and dry it takes awhile for the juice to go down so I either put some juice in the cart before the foam (about 1/4) or use a syringe to get to the bottom of the cart.

If you're talking about the 510 mega cartridge then you dont have to fold it over - thats for the Ego carts.
For the 510 mega carts you cut a strip a quarter again wider than the width of the cart for the first 1/4 inch and then taper it down to the cart width, the lengh is as long as the cart is deep.

Using a paperclip or smooth toothpick pull the foam into the cart from the bottom of the foam - the part that will be deepest in the cart, the foam should be flush with the end of the cart, it'll get pushed down by the atty bridge and give a good contact with the bridge.

Anything less than 1.25 times as wide as the cart at the mouth and the dang thing will leak constantly and flood your atomizers, it took me about a week and a half of ejuice all over various jacket and shirt pockets to figure that out.

I can put 28 drops in mine - you might need to have a paperclip handy to push in to provide a means for air trapped deep inside the cart to escape, otherwise you wont get a good fill. I usually just tilt my carts over when I fill and the liquid usually soaks in okay.

I got a syringe with blunt needle to fill my carts from the bottom, its easier.
