I wanted to post this in general, initially though juices, but maybe someone has a suggetion to hardware that could be causing this?

I got my PV on Dec 21st at 5pm, didnt smoke an analog until a couple days ago, and was fine with it. Was loving vaping, and had no interest in even touching an analog. Once i did, ack, the flavor is so nasty compared to vaping, but its did alleviate my symptoms, so at this point, i am smoking analogs full out again.

3 weeks of vaping without any issues, then i started having some throat and sinus issues. I have always had what seemed to be touchy sinuses, infections, etc.. nothing major, but i would get a cold 2-3 times a year, and my sinuses seemed to suffer the most, and would hang around for a couple weeks before clearing up without antibiotics. With vaping, it seems to have either magnified it, or magnified it and extended it. It got to the point the other day i couldnt stand the feeling of the vapor, felt like razor blades.

I have always used 80pg/20vg.
I use primarily boge 510 carts, volcanos clearos and tube tanks.

I was going to pick up some 100% VG and give that a try, seeing as how that doesnt dry you out if i have read correctly, which i would assume would help with my sinus issues?

Would the polyfill be contributing to my problems possibly? The clearos dont use poly fill, so maybe 100%vg in a clearo for a week or so?

Does anyone have any other suggestions? or had luck with something in my same circumstances?

...you are probably experiencing detox symptoms from the funkarettes...something commonly called quiters flu...it should pass...be sure to drink plenty of water or real fruit juices to keep yourself hydrated and to help with the detox...lots of good info on this in the health and safety section of this board.........

lots of detox symptoms today. VG will dry you out more than pg. It also makes me wheezy. I suffer through it because there is a couple of great juices out there that only come in 100&vg. But not for long. It will take the edge off the razor blades in your throat. Pick some up and add about 20% to a small batch of your 80/20 blend till you feel better. Then back off a little to only 10%(for 70/30 pg/vg) see if that works. You'll find a balance. 80/20 is the best tasting for juice but I'm a little sensitive to PG. In the mean time your flavor is going to be hit or miss for the next few days until you pass through the detox blahs and VG kills flavor but it will pass in a few days. Drink water.....lots and lots of water to flush away the blahs. You have to get past this stage. Stay strong so you can look back on it with triumph that you did it!

Quitter's flu is my vote. Lots of people say they have these symptoms as their body gets rid of the toxins from tobacco. This is a good reason for some people to vape and allow the process to drastically cut down the number of cigarettes they smoke. After a time, they just completely quit smoking without going through all the cold turkey symptoms others describe.

Lots of people say they started vaping and never looked back at cigs. Others have some difficulty. For some people, it's better to cut down for a while before stopping altogether. There are components in cigarette smoke besides nicotine that we get hooked on. One of those is MAOI (monoamine oxidase inhibitors). Use the PV to curb cravings, but have a cig a few times a day until the urges subside.

This link speaks to that: This is your brain on nicotine

+1 Dave!
i stick to the mentality, that if i want a cigarette, i can have one...but i never crave them, but i like the reassurance of having them around...even if the pack is pattered and they are probably stale now! haha! i find if i just dont deny myself a cigarette i dont want it! i only crave them when i know i cant have one

...a lot of things get blamed on vaping when it is actually symptoms from the detox from all the crapola put in funkarettes............
madjack:2cool:

Im not intentionally blaming anything for the symptoms i am having. The simple fact is that even though i have had issues with my sinuses in the past, i have never had my throat and sinuses feel LIKE this. Its hard to dispute, cause and affect. I am also in no way saying that vaping is bad or trying to sway anyone to not use it as a method of quitting, or for fun for that matter.

I am going to continue to try different things, combinations of juices, flavors, strengths, mix rations, hardware, etc.. until i find something that works for me. I have since my original post, ordered a 30ml of 100%vg of my favorite flavor from Blue Mist Vaping called Smooth in a 24mg nic with an extra %15 flavor shot to help outweight the all vg flavor issue many complain about.

I have never vaped anything more than 16mg nic, so that might be a bad thing, but i need the nicotine, and at times i dont think the 16 was doing it for me.

In the end, if i have to go 3.5 weeks vaping, then a few days - week of smoking, just to keep my throat from feeling like ive been swallowing razor blades, then thats what i will do. I would prefer to be off cigarettes entirely, but will accept anything less than full out smoking while i work towards that goal.

Like you I have HORRIBLE sinus issues, I also started to get what seemed like a sinus infection 2-3 weeks out, I picked up some strong cinnamon e juice and it really opened me up, I also uped the moisture in my home was way to dry, now I am back to normal, all but the quit zits now! I have not had to worry about that for 20 yrs or more......just hang in there, it truly takes time for your body to realign itself and work normal.

Smoking paralyses your cilia (the little "hairs" that sweep debris from your airway), and that's why you feel better when you switch back to regular cigarettes. It's sort of like putting hydrocortisone cream on a bug bite... it stops the itch, but the underlying cause is still there.

Your body is trying to get rid of the "goo" and tar in your airway. Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids and wait it out as best you can. Every time you switch back to analogues, you're starting the process all over again. ;)
