Has anyone *stayed* with the 510?

this sunds good to me..i like the simplicty! But, those look like the 510 carts. I am interested in this felt. I never heard of it.

They ARE 510 carts. But they will only fit the Pillbox 510 and most of us use Joye, Titan etc. These will not fit the 510s most of us use.

It's sometimes hard to remember that there are a ton of 510 products out there and not all of them are created equally....;)

Richie, the only problem you will find is minor leakage after several days of usage. It's so minor that it might not even bother you. If that happens, it time for a new filler. You can just wash the old one, let that air dry and it's good again for several days.

If it leaks at first you are placing too much liquid in the cart. I intentionally overfill the cart to begin with holding it in a tissue, wipe off the excess and then dab the filler a couple times if anything pooled. But I make my own e-juice and I realize that juice is not cheap for most of you.

I use an eGo whenever I have my 510 going. One of the caveats (which I truly believe was dumb luck and not some ingenious pre-thought on Janty/Joye's part) of the eGo/Tornado is that the threads on the cone are a super fine machine thread. So much so, that any leakage at the atty to batty connection is held there and doesn't leak onto the outside of the device. Of course, a BIG leak is going to be an issue. But, like I said, I drip and I don't have an issue with leakage so *seep-age* from a cart shouldn't matter at all.

Order placed. Thanks for the head's up. =)

I have used other models some decent some not so much but my 510 has been great, almst 4 months w/o a cig or drag. I will say it can be annoying sometimes with attys going cold or inconsistent but for the most part it has done its job. My suggestion to you is to find out if he even likes to vape b4 buying more equipment. But if you do and he does not like it at least you have extras. Anyway GL!!

I got my first 510 last week, and day one realized that I needed more batery life, so i got another 510 kit w/ PCC from cignot for 65$ worth it!! now i have 4 bateries and 4 attys and too many carts to keep up with.
The PCC is awesome!!!!! I leave the house with 2 charged batteries(one in my 510) and a charged PCC., thats six+ charges. The PCC holds an extra atty attached to a cart and 2 more carts while keeping the 2nd battery charged at all times. Gets me through the whole day, and I'm vaping pretty heavy right now.
My best friend got an ego last week(we are both new vapers and havent smoked in over a week now). I am a little jealous of his battery life but his start up cost was higher than mine and I have way more parts(for the sad day when my first atty dies).
IMO get the 510PCC kit from cignot and a sampler pack of juice so he can find his favorite flavor(for the same $ as an ego) If you are both using the same model ecig you can have eachothers back when equipment malfunctions and you are both less likely to get a pack of analogs(cause lets face it most of us are highly addicted to niccotine).

USB PT was one of the first things I did, due to the batteries short life.

Tornado(ego) is good, but I like Bartleby even more.
1. On/off switch!
2. Bigger battery.
3. Runs right off the USB while charging :D
They are 50 bucks (barebones)

And don't miss the ZFM (I see its been mentioned a couple times)

6mo vaping :D

I've been using a 510 for almost six weeks now (I'm one of those .......s who dropped analogs after nearly the first puff off a PV), and just received an eGo yesterday.

Yes, I got the eGo because of the fact that after about 150 of the 200 - 300 charge-cycles the standard 510 battery is rated for, they lose about half their vape-life. I was swapping my first two batteries (I got the 510/PCC kit from Cignot, on the wise and welcome recommendation from a couple friends) almost faster than they could charge after 5 weeks, so I decided to spend the money to quash my paranoia of being stuck w/out a PV during the day.

That being said, the "heart" of any PV is the atomizer, and the 510 atty produces IMHO more and better vapor of any other 3.X volt device, and I tried several before I bought even my first 510. Given the right platform, juice, and a little TLC, they are awesome producers and long-lasting. Especially for the price.

To answer your question: I got the eGo for work/random long trips.

But, at the same time I got the eGo, I also ordered more 510 attys (so now I'll have a total of 13, with 3 in use and 10 on reserve for whenever they start blowing... hasn't happened yet!), 3 more regular batteries, and a long battery for those occasions where I want longer battery life, but don't want the stubby "cigar" shape of the eGo, like a night on the town... or my upcoming wedding.

Yeah, a bunch of bucks... but from where I sit, having spent about $200 - $300 a month on analogs for the past several years, it's well worth it. And yes, outside of work, I still use the regular ol' 510 and probably will for quite a long time. It's a nice compromise between a super-mini "cigarette-sized" device, and a (somewhat) longer-lasting device that still retains the handling characteristics of an analog... and yet has other options like the Bartleby or eGo/Tornado if you want that too.

I love my joye 510's. I have been using them for a bit now. Of course Batt life isnt the greatest but i got my pcc and it makes it great never a worry. I also have my mega batt that i use and Im really loving it. I do plan on getting Chameleom soon only because i like having lots of toys around. but 510s have saved my life

I would love to stay with my 501 but after just getting it going today I am fairly disappointed. I don't get nearly the vapor that I have seen other people getting and not much of a throat OR lung hit. I don't know if it is my e-juice or if I am just doing it wrong. Heck I might even have the carts in wrong since I remember they are supposed to go in only one way but cant for the life of me find that post. I am now looking at cart mods to help vapor and hit production

It would be pretty hard to get the carts in the wrong way so you probably aren't doing that.
Ok so - first off - is your 510 juiced up?
You say its not giving off much vapor or TH could be the juice, could be too dry, could be a crappy atty.
Use the empty cart that came with it and drip about 2 or 3 drops of juice DIRECTLY on the bridge of the atty (the thing inside the atty taht sticks up, looks like a metal mushroom with a mesh top). Put the empty cart back on and vape on that.
Is it any different than using a filled cart at all? (You may have to primer puff it a couple of times, and remember to use LONG SLOW draws).
Come back and tell me what happened if you can.

I am fairly disappointed.
Take it easy, read, read, read but keep it simple at first.
There's a whole lot to be gained by being very patient during the transition to PVs.
Speaking solely for myself, as a nicotine addict, I wanted everything to be perfect from the moment I assembled my 510. When it wasn't, I was ready to chuck the whole thing as useless. Forum members were patient with me and I read carefully their suggestions and advice.
Keep a few regular cigarettes handy and invest the time in making this a satisfying experience. I doubt you'll regret it.

I have used a 510 for over 5 months now.
Husband and I got 2 sets so we could share them because it made sense financially so I understand that :) He hasn't started using them though as I have hogged everything.

My current setup:

3-4 batteries with 2 wall chargers and one car charger
USB PT- this is my preferred method as I am at the computer all day and the battery is better on it.

I have removed all wicks and bridges from my attys and direct drip only.

So far this has been working- sure I would love to upgrade and will someday. Using the 510's for this long has given me 5 months to read boards and learn about vaping more. I feel when I do upgrade I will make a good decision on what to purchase thanks to everyone here who has shared their experiences!

started with the smoke anywhere 51-trio, after 4 days of that i ordered my 510, got it in 3 days and have been using it since. The first atty died on me in a week, but i blame that on my experiments with dripping and burning it too dry. The other 2 that i got with my first order got a horrible burnt taste that i couldn't get out for the life of me. I then ordered 5 more attys from cignot and 10 more from kingpin ecigs.(2 weeks into vaping) i am still using 3 in rotation and have 12 left. I ordered a chuck which should be here any day, but i do still plan on stickign with 510 attys, and using batteries in places where the chuck use would get me weird looks. so yea, i guess you could say i'm stickign with the 510.
