Has anyone tried a KR808 battery in their 901?

Switching the subject around a little...is there any way a KR808 cartomizer can work on a 901 battery? I love my cartos and want to use them with my extra 901 batteries. I would buy an adapter, but I can't find any for this set-up. Any help would be very appreciated!

You shouldn't need an adapter. The threading is the same for most 901 and KR808D-1 batts/attys on the market. In fact, I don't think there is an adapter because then it would just be an extender.. ..I digress.

Here are a couple links for 901 > 808 adapters:

Altsmoke

Vapor Country

Vapor Country's is a standard 901 charging adapter thingy with a hole drilled in it -- in their subforum I think they once detailed how you can make one yourself if you happen to have one of those thingys. (They also sell the thingy here without the hole drilled if you want to DIY for even cheaper. Looks like MadVapes has the hole-less version too.) Nhaler used to carry this adapter also, but wasn't in the list just now, tho the pic of it is still there. Off the top of my head I know Health Cabin has that one as well, if you're planning on any orders from China. Not sure what Altsmoke's is like.

(I've heard of people dremeling... or whatever ;)... their 901-style mods for correct carto airflow, not sure about stock batts tho; maybe someone else will know. :))

Edit to add:

As windylou has apparently experienced, and I have too unfortunately lol (with a mod), the threads are compatible between 901 and 808 but the airflow (holes, slots) isn't necessarily. KR808D-1 batt to 901 atty will work out-of-box but 901 batt/connector to 808 carto needs help, either always or often.

Unperson, thank you for replying. I know that the threading is the same for the 901 and KR808.

The problem is, when I put a carto on a 901, I can get the LED to light up, and that's it. The draw is impossibly hard, no vapor comes out, and I get nothing to inhale into my mouth. I don't understand how they can be the same threads, yet it doesn't vaporize properly like every other e-cig. There should be some way to work around it, to get them to work together. If anyone knows the work-around for this, I would very much appreciate it!

Miss MIA,
Thank you, I didn't see your post before I replied. I will look into AltSmoke and Vapor Country's adapters. Thank you so much for your help!!

Wendy

Oh, I do have one of those 901 manual battery charging adapters! I tried it and can get a teeny tiny amount of vapor out of it, but the draw is still really hard. I am not a tool person, so I don't know how to drill a hole in it for more air flow. Does anyone know exactly where the hole is supposed to go, and how to go about doing this? Or is there somewhere on the forum I can read up about this?

Hi Wendy, here's one post to read. I can't recall offhand if that was the only place I ever saw 'semi-specifics' about making the hole discussed; it was so long ago when I was looking into it. So, altho I'm not sure if more existing info can be found in the VC subforum or elsewhere (weird, huh?? I'd have thought so; have been quite surprised myself at how many don't even realize that all is not compatible in all directions between 901 and 808!), if you do end up wanting to ask more about it, I think one of the logical higher-traffic subforums may net better results. E.g. Technical/tips/maintenance areas; or perhaps one of the Modding areas (atty?); or maybe even the 'Ask the Experts' sub... Hmmm, maybe asking about it in the madvapes sub could work out too, since I don't think they even offer the pre-drilled version, thus getting an answer to this on the record could increase their sales of the 901 charging thingy. VC probably wouldn't mind a new thread dedicated to the process either, tho yeah it's not really a high-traffic area.

FYI, I do recall hearing some say they preferred a smaller hole than the one that came pre-drilled in the vaporcountry version (at the time they first started offering these anyway), so they'd use a workaround of putting tape over the hole then poking a smaller hole in that.

Well, clearly I'm just rambling by now lol. Good luck, hope it all works out! :)

Thank you again, Miss MIA. Clearly you are very knowledgeable and very helpful, and not rambling at all :D I think I will save my fingers from getting a hole drilled in them, lol, and just end up buying an adapter from one of the stores you mentioned. But first I am waiting on a mod I ordered (Ikenvape's Lazer mod), which is supposed to be 901 & KR808 compatible, right off the bat. We'll see how that goes, and if I still decide to get adapters, I know where to look, thanks to you!
