This is a standard 18650 and I know I need the extension cap, but in the second link it says that they added another layer of insulation making the battery thicker. First link is the actual battery's I want to get and the second link shows the thicker layer and the details that make it different witch brings up the question. Will it work? The positive buttons are also bigger in diameter so will that work?

Has anyone used Panasonic CGR18650CH 2250mah (black line) batteries in the Provari as well? madvapes sells them but they are currently out of stock. These seems to be way better than the AWR line. Didnt mean to hijack your thread Striker just wanted to hear an opinions on this one as well since its another question regarding batteries.

you do not want to use those in your provari they are taller than the safe chem ones and could push the board inside the mod up.. AW batts should be back in stock in a few days id wait and get those just so theres no issues

I was looking for the actual specs for a size comparison but could not find the info. Can you tell me where you got your info so I can take a look? I remember seeing that you can not use the battery with the flat positive post and the you needed the dimple/button, but nothing about the wider button. Is that what makes it longer?

IMR's are much shorter then protected batts since a protection batt will have a protection PCB built on it making it longer

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I was thinking the 18650 was more of a universal code for "it works". Just glad I didnt buy any. I did some digging. Here is a link. Ill read up on it later but for anyone else that wants the info.

I've been running the Callies Kustoms ( Panasonic CGR18650CH ) for some time now in Both of my Provari's,,, and getting even better performance then the AW's as well. there a fantastic Batt period ! The 3100 is also an excellent power cell, There are also some comparison charts here =

I agree. Callies are the best batts you can get and the only thing better then AW IMR's .They are more expensive too

Sold. But just to be clear. I would guess your talking about the last one on the linked page? The 2250mah and not the 3100mah cause the longer lasting one of the two is too tall, and or thick?

As for other Panny batts I can't say, but if you put the Panny IMR batts in the Provari, you will notice that they are very tight, the AW batts have a bit of wiggle to them, but the Pannys don't. The nipples is recessed on the Panny batts, so a spacer may work, it may also do some damage.

The nipple is NOT recessed, check your specs you must have a damaged Batt, the nipple on the Callies is a 1mm top on it,, and it works in the Provari just fine with NO issues what so ever and is dam near the exact same size as the AW

The Panasonic IMR batts do not work in the provari, perhaps with a spacer, but that does not seem right to me because they are taller than the AWs

You better check again jkmtwo because they not only work they work super,,, I suggest loosening and re-tightening your end cap and check again,,,, I've been using the Callie's kustom in both of my Provari's for a long time, and so have numerous other people. you may want to check that the spring in your end cap is also installed properly too !

I also wonder if you have a counterfeit,,, I buy direct from Callie's kustoms for a reason

Yes Striker the 2250 IMR, IMR is the magic word here not the protected 3100 but the 2250 IMR, and the IMR does fit fine and they do work super !
