I'm having trouble with the screws. Even after filing down the ends the difference in tightness between holding snug and shearing the wires is intolerably small. The springyness of the wire goes away with use. I'm thinking of filling the posts (not center lol) with a nail or wire to give the screw something to push against.

It is way too airy for me and I just can't get the draw comfortable even with turning the ring to partially cover the holes which aren't precise enough to close evenly. A smaller drip tip helps. This is clearly designed as a direct lung hitter.

If you can keep the coils together it hits real nice.

I find it's best with low Ω dual coils, and wire under 30g.

I'd not recommend it to a new vaper, since an RM2 is by far an easier atty to build on. It is a lung-burner's delight though, because you can change so much about it. I run 26g kanthal which has a bit of meat to it when you screw the posts down.

Also, be careful with the wicking; i know a lot of you use cotton and i still use silica - i left long tails on the wick and tucked them under the coil to collect that extra liquid. It's a fierce hit if you run it dry!

I have the new screws the wrenches should be here monday
Sounds interesting, if the wrenches have little screwdriver handles item sold. I'm not sure the screws are the whole problem on these RM4s however, I took the sharp edges off the screw tips and the one negative post will still shear like a cutter. So I'm thinking about how to soften the edges of the wire holes. Perhaps a short piece of kanthal, I'm using 28g, through the hole and bent/formed around the outside like a nose ring will add enough support; the double wire in the center post seems to benefit that way. Maybe I could pack some solder in there, if the atty runs hot enough to melt the solder I have other problems! Anyway, redid the coils and while the're holding together I can vape like a smoke stack!

I agree I think this atty really shines with dual coils. I'm currently running dual coil 26 ga at .366 ohms and it is a full flavored vapor producing beast. With the 26 ga I can really tighten down the screws and they have seemed to stay tight. Can't wait to get the new screws so I don't have to think about it.

Dual coil (around 14g needle), 30g, .7 ohms. (same setup i use in my valkyrie). Perfecto in the RM4 for me. I had a slight mishap, while tightening, one of my negative posts came away completely. No biggie, just went back to the old fashioned way of dual coils, 2 posts. Put a bit more cotton in to reduce the spare chamber, never know the difference. Will post a pic. tomorrow.

Sent by vape-o-phone.

edit:

pic as promised. like I say, broke a neg leg off the base, but no worries - just like old times. with the chamber filled like this, it is a BIG vape - great flavour and density. beauty of the RM4 is you can adjust draw and air at anytime. I'd recommend it - just be a little less ham-fisted with yours :)

Better hold off on that solder Lillie. Maybe someone more knowledgable than me can chime in but solder in the chamber sounds like poison to me. I guess there is lead-free and antimony-free solder compositions but I defer to the experts.

Anyone who lost a negative side post, are they drilled all the way through or solid at the base where it's pressed into the atty base? If I try to stuff the posts and they are hollow all the way through then my efforts will only serve to lift the posts out.

Just ordered my replacement screws, thank you Mr. REO! [emoji1]
