So I made my first wick and coil today!

A few things to share. I think my wick is too thick. It is fitting tightly in the wick hole and ive heard its not supposed to be like that, I had a hard time getting it to that size :/

The first coil I made actually came out to 1.3 ohms and was wayyyyy to strong for me so I decided to uncoil and do another wrap. This proved to be much better at 2.4 ohms but id like it al little stonger. Is my only way to drop it down to 2 ohms to make the wick smaller?

Other than these slight hiccups my first two coils turned out great and did not give me to much hassle (took 1/2 hour to 45 minutes on each)

what site did you order these from?

From Discount Vapers. When I ordered they had 24, after I ordered they had 22 :D.

I just checked their website, and it seems they're out of stock. I'm glad I grabbed them when I did. I think SS mods (Chopper71 here on ECF) will have some, or might have some right now. You can PM him or check S&S mods to see if they have them in stock.

Since your last coil turned out at 2.4 ohms, try taking one wrap off the wick and see if that gets it down to 2.0. If that doesn't work, then you may have to re-roll the wick to be a bit thinner.

Yeah I tried that resulting in about a 1.7 ohm coil. Looks like I need a thinner wick :(

It sounds like when it read 1.3 ohms it was a short. An extra wrap won't add 1.1 ohms.

What device are you using? I'm using an aga-t+, and found that the 45x45mm sheet they sell at discount vapers is the perfect fit.

I built my first sucessful coil yesterday, with giants help. I oxidized the wick before and after rolling it. And the best way to describe the tightness of the coil on the wick is snug... not tight, but snug.

AGA T+ as well.... would agree that it was a short the first time. Its vaping extremely well with the 2.4 ohm setup but i need to draw a little longer than I like. Trying it out on a 3.7v mechanical epipe and a vision spinner.

That is an amazing atomizer. Of all the ones I've tried, it's my favorite. Small wick hole, though. If you want to vape at high wattage, you will need to set it up with a U wick to keep up.

Would a 3/32 ceramic wick fit in it? I'm just weighing my options right now. Thanks for the info Giant.
