Have an eGO, is the Leo worth it?

I have been vaping for 2 weeks. I love it and have already spent tons on liquids, etc. I stalk the mailman almost everyday because I am on the holiday work schedule (work an hour, vape for 3, work an hour, etc..). I have a Joye eGO and have been reading a lot about hardware.

Straightforward: If I were to buy a Leo, would I get much more than I already get concerning flavor and TH than I do with my eGO? The Leos are averaging about 50 bucks for the kit and I am not sure whether is it worth the cash. If anyone has any insight on the eGO versus the Leo please pass it on to me!

Thanks again ECF, now I vape and read ECF all night (instead of writing my thesis:p).

Hello and welcome to ECF fellow Virginian. I like both. Positives for eGo. Size, and availability of pieces/parts. Cons for eGo is that little cart. It holds very little liquid. I address this by dripping or using a cartomizer (really like the CE2 R4's here). The Leo is noticeably larger then the eGo (orginal size 650mah) and the atty/cart are much larger. The flavor is better IMO, but not so much as to warrant replacing a new eGo. Plus only Leo atomizers fit it. I only got the LEO cause I was bored w/ 510 stuff. I would say stay with the eGo and maybe try one of the large atomizers or cartomizers available for it. The eGo (style) is the best widely avail e-cig on the market IMO.

Edit: to answer your question directly. IMO, NO you will not get much more as far as flavor and TH with a LEO. It is better flavor IMO, but drier and comes w/ a size cost, availability cost. You did good getting that eGo as your first PV.

Thanks to both of you for your help with this. I am just a bit of a junky for new things I suppose! I did purchase a mega atty for my eGO last week and after getting it broken in, I have been fairly impressed. Additionally, the mega carts hold a ton of liquid (lasted my drive home to PA ~ 6 hours). I guess I will continue to play for now with my eGO.

I got a LR atty yesterday in the mail and I am not sure how to use it. It gets very hot and melted the cart it came with already (not sure if this is the correct operation). Thanks again for your help Sorrid and JollyRogers! Enjoy your new year and I will continue to experiment with my eGO!

the thing u need to look at was whether you want to spend the money for more expensive attys. instead of the 5 to 10 dollar attys for the ego the attys for the leo are around 10 dollars to 13 dollars. that would be the only thing for me to look at honestly. the 801 style atty get a little more flavor to me than the 50 ones do but at the sae time the 510 ones seem more redily available than the leo ones. thats just my .02 sorry if it wasnt that helpful

Here is a review of the Leo by DondaBoomVape it is very thorough as are all his reviews and guides. It should help you decide.

Thanks, Sorrid!

In answer to the OP's question:
  • NO ... if you want a PV with the ability to use myriad different types of cartomizers and atomizers, at multiple resistance levels, from many different suppliers.

  • YES ... if you find that the taste and feel of the vape of the 510 (or 306) atomizer leaves something to be desired. To me, the Leo provides a smoother, deeper, richer taste and feel than any other atomizer I have ever vaped (even more than other penstyle attys, which I have always loved).
The respective sizes and appearances (and mAh) speak for themselves. Some people love the look of the 153mm Leo. Others, not so much.

JollyRogers, I'm not sure that "availability of pieces/parts" is a relative advantage of the eGO over the Leo. There are many (and an increasing number of) suppliers, who carry Leo attys and batts.

Thanks for that lead on the $39 price, mgmrick! I'm not familiar with VapeLite. Their "About Us" and "Contact Us" says nothing about them or where they are located. If someone does want to take the plunge with them, I suggest that you move quickly. Boge is cutting off suppliers who sell the Leo for less than 50 bucks. [I believe that's what happened to Clouds of Vapor.]

FYI: Vapor Junction (which I do know and have ordered from repeatedly) now carries the Leo ... for $45. We'll see how long that price lasts.

I was a bit hesitant about the atomizer price myself but I am now into my second month and my original atomizer is still performing as well as it did when I got the kit. I would have gone through 3-4 510 atomizers by now.

Thanks everyone for the help. The price is not too much of a worry as I dont chain vape or burn through parts too fast (so it seems). I just like to vape mainly at night after dinner. I will keep the Leo in the back of my mind as the spitting sound that comes from the eGO is a little bothersome. Don, thanks for the summary, I do in fact like the looks of the eGO. Not sure what I will do yet.

Can you do an ohms test on that atty? My 16 day leo atty out of the box was 2.9 now still working but ohms is now at 1.9

I may not have written what I was thinking. There are regular 510 atomizers, LR 510 atomizers, Cartomizers of all kinds w/ 510 threads, then there is the eGo A and B type atomizers, in regular and LR. And now coming shortly is the the T-tank system. All for the eGo. Plus they are interchangeable with Riva's for batts and numerous other clones out there also... and you can buy 510 atomizers at pretty much any vendor. I would say that they are more readily available then Leo parts. I can find Leo batteries and atomizers. I understand cartomizers are on the way. It justs hasn't matured yet. Don't get me wrong, when my Leo worked, I really like(d) it for flavor and length of time between filling carts (waiting on a RMA battery), but it is as big, though not as heavy, as one of my 18650 mods. Plus not to many vendors even have atomizers or batteries seperate yet.

I am afraid that I am completely illiterate when it comes to electronics. I am not even sure what an ohms test is.

I can say with certainty that the atomizer is still performing very well. I am getting the nice plume of vapor with good flavor and TH. Of course satisfaction is purely subjective. I wish I could be more helpful.
