Hey guys,

I've been vapeing for 5 years, and I need some advice.

I started out with a v2 ecig, moved to an innokin Leo with boge cartos, clearomizers, etc. and 5 years later needless to say I really need to upgrade! I tried a sub ohm council of vapor mini but it wasn't for me. Way too harsh, and really burned thru the juice! I still prefer mtl, and want to keep things cheap and simple if I can. I am currently using 20mg nic juice, 60pg/40vg. I tried decreasing the nic, but lost too much throat hit so went back. I almost picked up an ego aio box kit with .6 ohm coil but read thats not good for high nic juice. My Leo batteries are getting weak, and finding mega cartos is next to impossible. When did vapeing get so dam complicated? Geez

Any suggestions?

Welcome to ECF!

Generally speaking, the lower the resistance you use, the lower your nic level should be. Most people cut their nic level in half when they start sub ohm vaping.

There are still many MTL tanks available like the Aspire Nautilus Mini, the Eleaf GS Air series and others.

Either of those two I mentioned will work well on an Eleaf iStick 30w, 40w TC or Pico 75 watt. Check out rockymountainvapors.com They have a coupon code "turkey" for 30% off and free shipping on orders over $14.

There is also the Innokin Endura T18 that uses 1.5 ohm coils and is suitable for MTL.

Congrats on 5 years! No need for it to get too complicated. As gandymarsh pointed out there are mtl tanks out there. The Nautilus series is probably the most known and widest available. The Nauti mini has been a standard for several years. I would recommend looking at something little newer, like the Triton Mini or even the Nautilus 2. I say that for simplicity as they use the same Nautilus coils, but have top fill, unlike the original Nautilus series that filled from the bottom.

After that, it's choosing the "battery" to run it, or the mod now. Plenty of affordable options out there, and with a mtl tank, you require little in the way of power. It's not like a subohm setup. The Pico is an incredibly popular and affordable mod that will easily handle the tanks we're talking about.

Good luck, and I'm sure you'll find the right fit without too much trouble.

There are many that don't sub-ohm. Kind of hard to get a lower wattage mod or one without a lot less-needed features. But, nothing says you have to use all the power or features.

People seem happy with the Pico. I don't have one so can't really say. The Nautilus and Triton are also well spoken of.

Good luck!

Well I had to Google the Leo to see what it was. 1000mah 3.7v no adjustments no fiddling around?

I just purchased 2 eGo ONE Mega full kits today for $10each! 2600mah 4.2v no adjustments no fiddling around.

Seems it might be something that would interest you. I had no interest in the batteries but bought these kits just to get 2 more of the tanks to bring my arsenal to 8 . I have no need for any others. Great tanks especially when used with the available CLR rebuildable coils. I have my CLRs built to 1.5ohm and use the tanks on Istick Pico mods.

If you're interested in looking here's a link. There's also a $5 off first purchase discount available on home page of the website.

If interested in more info on the tanks and CLR coil here's a dedicated thread.

I have several mtl vapes, although I'm more into sub-ohm vaping myself. But I have a Sigelei Zmax v5 with an Evod tank that works quite well, although the Sigelei is vv/vw. I also like like Aspire Vision Spinner with a K1 tank. But it's vv. There are options, not everything is sub-ohm. I would say anything by Aspire would be a good fit.

Welcome and glad you joined. Could get a hold of a mod and some good RDA's. Best bang for the money.

As others have said, there are plenty of options for us MTLers. Tanks would include:
  • Nautilus, Nautilus Mini, Triton Mini, Nautilus 2 - these four all use the same coils. The Nautilus is the largest so you'd refill less often, while the Triton Mini and Nautilus 2 are top fill so they're easier to fill.
  • Triton - This has been mentioned, so I thought I should point out that it does not use the same coils as the Triton Mini/Nautilus series. There is a nice 1.8 ohm MTL coil for it, as well as a pile of sub-ohm coils.
  • Nautilus X - another one with a similar name but different coils. I quite like mine. There are 1.5 ohm and 1.8 ohm coils, and many people (including me) find the 1.8 ohm coils are much better than the 1.5s.
As @Eskie says, almost any mod will work with them. The Pico and VTC Mini are good places to start - reasonably-priced, reliable, one-battery mods. If you want to try one of them, I'd recommend checking out the Batteries and Chargers forum as well as Mooch's blog to pick up a few tips about the batteries they use.

Welcome and good luck!
