I tried to ask this is a different thread, but it wouldn't post for some reason, so I am going to try posting here. If this, somehow, ends up being a double post in 2 different sections of the forum, I apologize. mods...go ahead and delete one. (Hopefully, not the one where I am getting the most help..!
Just received my vGo today and I'm ready to try this thing out!!
I only have experience with a 2 piece model, Kr808D-1, and have never even seen a different model.
The cartridges have a little Mouthpiece? cap on it, that pops off. When I take it off, I can see ejuice floating on top of (I assume) filler.
Should it be that full?
Also, I have read about people dry burning the atty. How exactly do you do that? Just push the button on my battery with the atomizer attached, but not the cartridge?

Visual aids are also helpful, so if you know of any good youtube videos that I could learn from, links are always welcomed!!.......

So if the atty gets to wet, it will flood, and if it gets to dry it will burn out?
Is it ready to go right out of the package? And about the cartridge, should it be that full. If I had that much juice in a cartomizer, I would be sucking on liquid every time I hit it.
I am asking these questions because all I have done at this point with my kit is take it out of the package, plug the battery into the charger, and inspect the "parts". I haven't put anything together and even tried one puff. I want to make sure I know what I'm doing first.
I do have some lr atty's. I ordered extras of those, and only have one regular atty that came with the kit.
I'm just not sure what to do at this point becuae I have read about some nasty coating on the atty's, that's why I thought people did the dry burn thing, and I'm not sure on the fullness of the cartridge.

Also, I tried to order a drip tip, but I didn't get it. Have to order that next time around, but, when I do get it, I just put that on top of the atty, instead of the cartridge right? But if that's the case, how will I know how much to use and not flood the atty, since that is a possibility?

I have the eGo and usually I'll take the atty off and blow it out from the thread end, then screw it on and dry burn for a sec. Or dry burn, then blow. I'm just trying to "ungunk" it when the atty is clogged with too much liquid. It's different with a too dry atty, which can develop a nasty taste or hit in the back of your mouth. Then maybe drop or two directly on the silver bridge and put the cartridge back on. This comes from my own experience and just knowing what it needs.

You got a prefilled cartridge? If so, then yeah they are usually soaking wet. If not, then I use the "high-ping" cart mod, which to put it simply, is about 8 drops in the cartridge and a small piece of filler, maybe half size of cart, sort of floating on top. But there are several different ways to prepare your cart before using. Only trial and error (and alot of thread reading) will help find your ideal.

Go to advanced search above, keyword "cart mod", click title search only.

The vGo (eGo) is a big enough battery to do a dry burn. Sure a mod will get it hotter but the eGo will do the job.

Justincase read this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...aaahhh-i-think-i-destroyed-my-first-atty.html

Not sure you are going to gain much from that thread.

As far as filling carts, visible liquid in the top, will probably flood the atty, and likely send a nice spurt of juice into your mouth. I just drip 6-9 drops onto the top of the filling, wherever I see dry filler. I tried somebodies method of tearing the filling in half, vertically, then filling. It did not work for me. But as many others have said, it is all personal preference.

As long as the vendor you purchased the vGo from included the standard cartridges that come with it, you should be fine with the amount of liquid in them without flooding it. If you do happen to flood it, as with most of the manual batteries, it's pretty easy to remove the atty and cart, blow through it from the bottom over a paper towel to get the excess juice out, then burn off the excess. Usually when I fill the carts for my vgo, if I happen to overfill and have liquid pooling, I either just blot it off with a tissue, or if I know the atty is getting pretty dry, just use it. After 1 or 2 battery cutoff cycles, it will be good to go. Congrats on your new e-cig. Out of all the models I personally use, the vgo is my daily use and favorite.

Also, if you search on 510 atomizers, there are a lot of ways that people like to burn off the factory manufacturing liquid in the atty to avoid the bad taste that can come from them. Lastly, if you happen to ever get a eGo, don't interchange the chargers. You will fry the battery on the vGo if you use the eGo charger with it (not sure if the opposite is true, but I suspect so).
