But what I'm telling you is that one works great. I've recommended it many times in the past and everyone that has bought it has been happy with it.

LOL. I know, and when you first posted it I'd already decided that I'd go to Walgreen's and check it out. I bought one of my adapters because it was highly recommended by several people here and it did no better than the first 1000Ma adapter I bought. So, I still want to know about the 2000Ma adapter and hope that sl2222 will post more info about it.

This is an exact quote from the back of the package:

"Output: (2) USB 1000mA power ports"

That would seem to indicate the total available output is 2000mA. I don't know that for a fact, but I can't imagine there are two separate circuits in there providing 1000mA each.

All I know is it works almost as well as my SB @ 6 volts.

Not arguing, by any means. Just putting more info into the pot for everyone. :)

The pass-thru I got with my startup kit (2 weeks ago) is an auto - one of the old ones.

I tried it for the 1st time in the car yesterday and it didn't go well. First I could get it to work (I dragged on it like 5 times with no result), then it did start working and I took a few hits and put it on the passenger seat to cool off. I picked it up a couple mins later to find that it had never turn off and had begun melting the cart! Good thing I picked it up when I did or I have no doubt it would have burned a hole in my leather passenger seat!

I'm sure it's just a defective unit and V4L will replace it for me - so no big deal - but I thought I'd share my experience so people keep an eye on their PT's!

I have a pile of dead ones. I live on the passthrough. I found the manuals hold up better than the autos. Possibly due to the auto switch being the weak component. Out of 3 I've ordered and a bunch of replacements and bonuses I have one left that I'm babying. I used to keep one in my truck and one at my desk. I'm out of work like so many others in this country and can't order the new one. I just can't justify spending money I don't have. Hopefully this last one will last longer than my unemployed status.
I keep looking at my juices and watching as my stock dwindles as well. Grrrrrr.

I've been searching to find where i bought it but can't find it yet. I'll keep looking and get back to u.
The charger says "usb car charger"\model - xs128a

I've searched google on that and didn't find it....
Update...
I located where i got it. EBay...
2000mA 2A 5.5V USB Car Charger for PDA/Mobile Phone - eBay (item 260544720693 end time Feb-27-10 02:41:09 PST)

It's about 11 bucks (USA) delivered.
It's in Hong Kong tho so it'd be a couple weeks to get it probably.

Also PawPaw is reputable so I'd trust that recommendation also. Some units that say 1000 do 1000 and that particular one may work like the rosewill wall adapter i have...if there's 1 thing plugged in it's 2000ma if there's 2 then it's 1000ma each. the rosewill has 4 ports and it goes down to 750 and then 500 if all 4 ports are used at the same time.

Do you have a link or model #/manufacturer info? Pretty please? :)

But tomskag and calla2 were wanting an automobile charger. I have that one and it's an AC charger. Works great too tho!

Here's a great unit - works just fine with all the PT's - total price after shipping is just under $4!!! Only problem is I can't figure out how to order more than 1 at a time ...

I just tested my Walgreens adapter. It didn't work with two PTs. I barely got a whisp of vapor from the auto PT while pushing the button on the manual. I still say it works great with one.

BTW, thanks for the vote of confidence!

Those are sold out. :( If you still see the price, hit Shift + F5 to refresh your browser.

USB Dual Power Adapter

I checked that link and it said it was sold out of the USB dual power adapters.

I just got my $1.95 ebay 1000mah USB to wall adapter in the mail, and the darned thing doesn't work. Another waster of time and money. Why in the heck does a 1000mah power adapter not work with a 510 PT??

Found a 2 amp model, lets see if this one works....
Yep, this one works, but there is some electrical line hiss coming from the unit. It is not loud, but you can hear it when you plug it in. Also, the plug blades are a little long, so it does not seat into a wall outlet as well as one would hope. But, it does work. I will use this one until it dies, then I will hopefully find one that is designed a little better.

I just had a auto passthrough fail today that I got with my original order. Never dropped or stretched or abused in any way. 3 weeks to failure, that really sucks.

Thats alright I had the same problem with mine It literally burned while plugged in to the comp but all you need to do is tell steve and the guys and they'll help you out...They ALWAYS do!
