Why do you think that is?
It's definitely different for everyone.
Vaping made quitting easy (easier than gum or cig-a-likes) because I could see the vapor (which looks like smoke), so I got the visual cue that I was smoking. I also needed that "thump" in the back of my throat (TH) which I only got when I switched to rebuildables. Most importantly, the "drawing" or "sucking" action is reminiscent of a cigarette, and really does a good job tricking my brain into thinking it's smoking.
