I don't interact with a lot of smokers these days (a few people, at most). That's not intentional, though. I think I just don't know very many personally anymore. They've either quit or I've lost touch with them. I work from home now, so I don't get to go outside with the smokers in my old office anymore.
I've tried to convert a few friends in the past, but I was using Blu at the time (I've graduated to regulated and mech mods, RDAs/RBAs, etc). One of them bought the starter pack and didn't like it at all. It didn't feel like a cigarette to him (no matter how hard Blu and the other cig-a-like manufacturers try to convince people that they look and feel like cigarettes), and he was tired of it going off whenever the wind blew on it, so he stopped using it almost immediately.
Others I know think that
vaping is (1) no different than cigarettes (no matter how hard one tries to explain the significant differences), and (2) silly looking. I think they are mostly just resistant to change. That's their choice, though, and I don't make it a point to annoy them by constantly trying to convince them. I figure that, as vaping becomes more commonplace, they will try it if they are really interested in quitting smoking.
Side Note: I find it interesting when smokers tell me that my vape juice (Red Licorice, specifically) "smells bad", and they don't like being around it. I can't even stand to be around their cigarette smoke if we are outside and I'm 15 feet away from them. I feel like the smoke smell is sticking to me, and I have to leave. I can't believe I smoked for over 16 years.
