My wife quit long after I started vaping. She tried a Joye 510 and the eGo and didn't like the metallic nature of cigalikes. She asked the doctor for a prescription and just quit smoking. Yay for her! She's been faithful to her decision to quit, but says that there are times when she'd like to go buy a pack, but toughs it out and won't give in.
I think that's one of the reasons I've continued to vape for 5 years. I need and enjoy the hand to mouth thing that people tend to miss when they quit. Ecigs provide the pacifier effect and take away the desires to start smoking again. It's a relaxing habit even if you work your way down to low nic levels. I'm down from 24mg to 6mg and finding that 6mg satisfies me without any cravings. The AMA says a little nic is good for the brain processes and helps to ward off Alzheimer's.
I recently had an X-ray to make sure that the chest cold I had wasn't Pneumonia. It wasn't. It was just a bad chest cold, maybe a little Bronchitis according to the doctor. My X-ray turned out normal. I stopped at the hospital yesterday to get a copy on DVD. When I opened it, naturally I didn't know how to judge it so I Googled "Normal X-ray Images". Mine looks just like the sample image of a good, normal X-ray. It didn't come with a physician's narrative so I'm going to ask the doctor to fax me his copy of the radiologist's narrative and his own comments just to see if they saw anything I didn't.
I have to wonder if quitting 5 years ago and vaping may have saved me from some respiratory damage. Apparently, my lungs were able to heal in the last 5 years without continued smoking.
