A good customer of ours has a problem and although we're sympathetic about it we really haven't seen this happen based on a carto or atty.

So just wondering if you guys have come across a carto or a battery causing this:

used your cartomizers for several months with no problem on my Titan tornado battery, today after my first battery went out I thought it was just my battery, when I got home I put my remaining battery on the cartomizer and was fine for a couple of minutes then looked down and it wAs smoking,,so it has burnt up 2 Titan batteries

Anyone run into this before?

Had that happen when some debris from a carto that died(big time) got into the batt terminal on my eGo. Appearantly shorted it out. For some reason, it would stay on for a couple seconds at a time every time I released the button. Eventually killed the batt. Stunk! I believe that(at least the eGos), when they short at the terminal something screwy happens to the IC and they stay on eventually.

The switches get stuck and the Atty or carto stays on, this has happen to me twice now, I also have had it happen where the Atty has shorted the Battery as well, this happen to me today again now for the second time

I have never had the button stick. In fact, the LED went out on mine, but continued to sizzle. Pretty sure it was the deris in the batt connection.

I actually took it apart lowthudd, the switch on the board was stuck in the down position and kept the Batt running a charge and ended up smoking it on that one. I've been using Ego's and Riva's now since they where very first introduce maybe 7-8 months ago I'm not sure but got them the week they where released. The Ego first of course, so far in that time I have only had two Ego's go bad out of the 20 I have. As far as the Riva Batts go I have also had two of those go bad out of about 15 or so that I have purchased since the week they where introduce so the way I look at it is 4 Batts in somewhere around 7-8 months isn't bad, especially the abuse I put them through. I have them in my house. my car, my boat, and my bike and only 4 to go bad for somewhere around $60 in all those months is OK for my wallet

Hoog,

I guess my answer would then be yes.!! and in two different ways that they have gone bad, two times the way you explained it and 2 times another way, I also had Eathen over at Janty replace the 2 Egos so I ended up really only loosing out on two batts in all this time since the Ego's where under warranty when they went bad. Attys are another story buddy, haha

Mine was alittle different. When I prss the button, the LED still functions, but will not vape at all. I am fairly certain that the peiece of metal I pulled out of the batt conector was at fault in my case. I am sure that the buttons do stick on occasion, but this was a different story and there was deffinately a short at the batt connection.

Two Hello 016 batteries died at the same time; one i bought from Madvapes and the other from LitecigUSA. And the only thing in common was the Premium LitecigUSA Joye LR atty. Not an electrical wiz but i'm guessing the LR atty is drawing too much current and the batteries aren't built well enough to handle this. Well, the similarity is that both batts died with a common atty.

Anyhow, i do understand that neither the atty nor the battery is suppose to last. The Tornado, Ego, Riva, Hello 016,and the like (price range too) from what i can tell, is pretty much all the same. i hope this customer understands this. Heck, at least his batteries went months and not weeks like mine.

The lesson? Buy a durable custom mod!

We have to remember guys these are only batteries, look at a duracell and how quickly they go dead, heck I think its a pretty good batt for what where doing with them & getting all these recharges out of them, I took mine apart and the Ego's are marked at 450mAh I believe. Are LR Atty's drawing to much at over 2amp's heck ya they are, but there still lasting a pretty good time for what there worth in my opinion. Now I mostly use them out of the house when I am out and about and use all of my GGTS units and my Journeyman while inside but take them with me to at times too, nothing like having top quality Mods in my opinion and running the best batts in them, you get what you pay for.!!! I'm looking forward to having one of the very first VV Ali'i Mods very soon

Yes x9...while I love the ego type batteries for looks, I am so over them for a while... tired of the button sticking or some kinda short with an atty and blowing them up.

What really sucks is the first time an atty blows a battery, you have no clue what caused it so you screw the atty on the second battery and WHAM... lost another one. hah

That's exactly what happened with my Rivas... Lr atty killed both batts within minutes....I lost 2 batts and an atty, that would have been an expensive 5 minutes had I not had a good warranty from a company that sold both the LR atty and batts. It pays to have a warranty :).

Just last week I put a new 2.7 ohm carto on a 510 extended battery, and whoa the the carto started to smoke and burned a hole in its side before I could get it off. To say the least, the battery has quite functioning and I am about to throw it away. In 4 months, this is the first, and hopefully last, time this has happened.

Can a carto ruin a battery? Absolutely!

Since I'm a 901 person about the only 510 batteries I have are the Hello disposables which I use when I'm away and then I recharge and use on the few 510 thread cartomizers I have. Had one of the Hello batteries go weird. Charged seemingly fine, as in the battery didn't seem to be leaking nor was it burning hot. But when I went to put it on the cartomizer the carto instantly fired. The button light stayed on and now the battery is permanently on all the time. So strange things can indeed happen.
