Hi I would like to get back into vaping, it's been a little while so I'm guessing there's been a lot of technological advances in the vaping community.

I'm looking for something to use mainly indoors for vaping on and off throughout the day. Maybe for 15-25 minutes every hour or 2.

I was looking at a couple of top 10 lists for boxes which seem to be more solid than a pen type. The Series-B Tilt 50W from Jac Vapour was on both lists and seems like a good balance for what I would like it for.

I would like to know what else I would need other than the box mod itself, a 18650 battery and usb charging lead.

For example will it need coils and/or atomizers and how long would 1 coil/atomizer last? If I remember correctly a coil/atomizer would give you about 4-5 e-liquid fills before needing to be replaced and you can tell when they need replacing how exactly?

Also would welcome any recommendations if you think of one better than the series-b

Sorry if I've posted in the wrong area and thanks for any help!

First, I'd avoid any top 10 lists online. They're usually marketing attempts and not necessarily indicative of the true performance. You will need 2 primary items, a tank to hold and vaporize the liquid. The second is a mod to provide the electrical current needed to do that. You can buy mods as kits which includes the tank, or buy them separately.

A little more info would help in making recommendations. Are you doing this to stop smoking? Are you looking for flavor or clouds?

Ditto on avoiding Top xx lists on the internet. Any Yahoo with a website and a youtube channel can set himself up as the JD Powers of vaping. Or, cell phones. Or...

Best to decide your budget, figure out what you want out of the device, and set out to find the one that meets your parameters.

Technology growth has multiplied the options available and pushed prices down. Down to the point that you can have 75 watts of power, temperature control, and the ability to build your atomizer to provide a great vape for direct to lung or mouth to lung, all with one setup. All for less than $100, with a battery and charger.

Welcome back into returning to vaping! I stopped for awhile, and the improvements are pretty vast :) It might be wise to try a few tried and true brands that are inexpensive as starter setups to see what you like. The Pico starter kit can be a popular choice. I'd start with figuring out if you want an internal battery charge vs. external batteries that you charge separately, and also maybe go to a vape shop if you have the ability to do so, to specifically look at various popular models and what seems/feels good in your hand. Then you can research those options, and purchase online, probably for less than from a B&M.

Good luck!

Don't buy stuff off lists - It's all a marketing con.

'Brands' pay commission to magically appear on the nefarious websites that make out to be independent. Nothing could be further from the truth - they are not independent.
Have a look at some review sites - what do you find? In America you get Vaporfi, Juul, V2 and Halo
as 'the only things worth buying'. In the UK, you get a lot of JacVapour.
That's why nobody I know will spend their money there. They need to stop it, but they won't.

The great e-cigarette sales merry-go-round.

Neither these brands nor the people behind the fake review websites have the nerve to even turn up at vape events anymore. They just sit in their towers, raking in the money and counting the days until it become painfully obvious to too many people what how they operate.
50w for £45 is nothing anyway these days. I bought a 60w mod this weekend for £10 (Joyetech)...

I'm assuming that you tried vaping but went back to smoking? I'd say first you have to ask yourself why vaping didn't work out for you before and why you preferred smoking over vaping. Try to identify what it is about smoking that you want to keep and then look for a set up that gives you as close to whatever that is that you can.

Here is a thread on the JAC series b

JAC Vapour Series-B DNA 75w

As far as your tanks, (gone are the days of the carto) they now hold anywhere from 2-5 ml of e juice on average, it will last you all day before you have to refill it. (And they are easy to refill)

For your tank, I might suggest the Aspire Triton tank for you. You can get all kinds of coils for it so you can find your happy vaping place with that one tank.

The coils you put in your tank will control what wattage you can vape at, lower wattage you will need a higher ohm coil, like a 1.8 ohm (will get you around 11 watts or so) the lower you go, the higher your wattage can be. I would start with a higher ohm coil, and go down from there until you find where you like to vape the best.

I'd give a plus sign for the JAC too, but I know how I vape. Nothing is for everyone.

The Series-B Tilt 50W

I just noticed this. Actually, I'd not recommend the Tilt, if you dropped for a JAC, but instead for the the DNA75 (non-tilt, and overall a much better option).

It's the one in the links that both @Opinionated and @DancingHeretik put it, but you'd just need to make sure you were selecting the non-USA one. Easy, pie.

I see your previous post was from 2012, there has been advancements in gear not unlike going from the horse and buggy to a modern automobile since then. The choices available currently might seem overwhelming to you right now. First, what kind of budget is available will determine a lot what your choices might be, there are still pen style devices, variable watt devices, all the way to temperature control devices, and atties to accompany them, also there is a lot of plug and play atomizer / coil setups that can accommodate a great range of vaping styles. There has also been huge advancements in rebuildables atomizers, and rebuildables tank atomizers and the choices are endless. Some atomizers are still restricted airflow, referred to as mouth to lung, or MTL, and there are others that are more wide open airflow whereby you kind of just inhale through them, called direct to lung, or DTL. Welcome back, and good luck sorting out which way you want to go from here.

That was my bad.. I had the series B in my head for some reason. I definitely started the mistake.

Thanks for all the replies, very helpful. I'll be avoiding top 10 sites in future and with regards to what I'm looking for in a vape, well I'm not too concerned with clouds nor with flavor as long as both meet the standard/average level... if such a thing exists. I miss the nicotine, I've not smoked for a few years now and haven't used e-cigs either but I still crave the joys both brought.

I'm looking at the Series-B DNA at 75w thanks to those that recommended it, it seems to be pretty solid all round.

So if the Series B DNA mod will last potentially a couple of years or more (6 month warranty) and one 18650 battery will last maybe a year or more? Then the only other things you'll need are a tank which on average usually last between 2-4 weeks, coils around the same? These are rough estimates using Google and I know it depends on the persons vaping habits but would you agree that that is about right for the average vape use per day?

Finally I was looking at Jac's website they sell e-liquids in 50ml bottles at £13.00 ($17.00) is this a good deal?

Thanks again for all the responses.

Tanks last years.. they will last longer than your mods will.. the only thing which goes wrong with them is o rings, which can be changed, and of course threads, but being made of stainless steel they won't go out for a good long time. You might break your glass on your tank, but those too are replaceable.

People buy new tanks more for fun than for any other reason.. HAVE to know how good the newest tank is.. lol..

It's the coils that need changed periodically, usually a coil will last anywhere from 5 days to two weeks.. depending upon what kind of juice you use.

Price-wise the juice is fine, (average) if it's good juice.

Mods last anywhere from 6 months (low end) to 5 years (high end) on average. Mid range around a year or two. Of course, this depends on vaping habits.

Count on new batteries once every year, yes.
