When I started I was at my daughters. Basically her and hubby hates the smell of analogs which is why I got bought my first.
I was there for two weeks and didn't take any analogs with me so I had no choice but to stick with it.
I haven't had an analog since.
Is there still times I want one. Yes.
After I eat is the worse---especially with a chocolate shake.
At this stage of the game, I know it's more of memory pleasure because I hate the smell of SHS now. Yes, I hate to admit it, but I do but don't say anything to my still smoking friends.
Actually I'm glad I have to put up with it because it reminds me it would probably kill me if I actually smoked a analog.

I was able to use my 510 and not look back on analogs at all, I had 2 analogs one for taste difference (tasted like crap compared to my 510) and the other to try and get my liquid match closer. Haven't had one since nor do I care for one.. Now my wife on the other hand had a very difficult time switching over and what she did was wean herself off the analogs, took her a good week to do. I wish you luck, just don't give up it'll pay off later ya know like when your sense of taste and smell come back to name a few.

I had the blu as my first e-cig and only for a week. I returned it last week. I was able to cut down from 1 pack a day to 1/2 a pack a day. My boyfriend was not able to cut down at all with the blu and quickly gave up on it in frustration. We had trouble getting more than one drag off of the attys without having to put it down for 5+ mins and a bad battery. We tried like hell to make it work. Topped it off, etc. - and nothing helped.

I managed to convince him that we shouldn't give up....our 510's are on the way and should be here tomorrow or tuesday. I will let you know our opinion on the 510's vs Blu and how much we are able to cut back. I think a lot of people maybe right that the e-juice and equipment can make a difference...at least I'm hoping anyway! ;)

Well, I've just ordered my first kit, and as a hardcore (20+ years smoker) who is currently chugging about 25 roll ups a day (smoking one as I type), I'll be more than happy if I can steadily reduce my intake by just a few rollies per day...a few months down the line I know I will be far better, happier and healthier for it (I am aiming higher than that, but at the same time, if, as a 20+ year smoker, it takes me only 20 or so weeks to quit, I won't be complaining).

I'm not really going to preasure myself and set super-strict targets, but with a little bit of will power and the aid of vaping, I think I just might be able to kick this filthy habit.

Best of luck to Gertiesmert and the rest of us who are looking to jack it in.

I think this is the key...all ex smokers get their sense of taste and smell back pretty quickly....and they realise just how nasty a habit it is (nothing worse than an ex smoker for pointing out these things with their new found purity)...with the aid of vaping to help nicotine cravings (and the general hand to mouth smoking replacement of vaping) I can see why vapers have a far easier time quiting than folks who use will power, patches, gum etc.

I've only been vaping for a few days 6 I think, VVVVV look at the counter lol. The first day when I got my 510 I was committed to quitting the analogs. Though when I got it, and took my first few puffs, I was somewhat disappointed TBH. The vapor wasn't pumping as I thought it should be, and the throat/lung hit was lacking. Though I stuck with it, learned how to do the e-cig inhale. I have got it down to two type of inhales that really please me. Sometimes I fill my mouth with vapor, then pull the e-cig away and inhale fully giving a strong hit at once. Then the other one I use mostly I just inhale until I feel that lungs full "feeling". I don't know if there are more types of inhaling that I don't know about. I wouldn't be surprised if there is, but I mean I can't imagine there is. Though with me learning how to inhale, my atty being broken in, my marlboro reds never hit this hard. I also noticed my lung capacity is increasing so I can hold more vapor "in". :D I was having analog cravings the first 2-3 days, but quickly retrained the habit of smoking with reaching for my PV in my pocket and just toking on it. Now I don't think I could go back to smoking analogs, I look at all the positives of vaping. With analogs you find a lighter (very challenging for some:rolleyes:), go outside in most cases, in the car you have to have your window down. Smoking analogs just seems like an inconvenience to me now, with less "hitting" power.

I didn't start ecigs to stop smoking - with 40 years of being a heavy smoker (3 packs/day) with several attempts at quitting, I knew it was impossible for me to stop smoking. I bought the ecig hoping to save money.

That was late July. In about 2 weeks I was smoking only a few analogs a day because I liked vaping better. I got to a point where the analogs just really annoyed me - too hot, nasty tasting. So I stopped smoking analogs.

I've gone back twice, both times when I didn't have a working ecig with me. (First time was a bad charger; second time I left for work without my ecig stuff.) I went back to vaping as soon as I could. The first time, I finished off the pack I had bought; the second time I gave the remaining cigarettes to a co-worker.

I've had an unopened pack of cigarettes on my dining room table for about 6 weeks just in case of an 'emergency'. I walked past them yesterday and briefly had a thought 'I want one of those". Before I could even reach my hand out, I remembered how bad they taste, walked across the room and puffed on my PV.

Most of my 'cravings' have been at that minimal level, maybe a little stronger. In the past 8 weeks, I've only had one mega-craving after a couple of days of vaping just non-tobacco juices (there are so many flavors!). So I brought out a bottle of bland-tasting tobacco ejuice that I hadn't been using and switched to that - ahhh! So I make sure I'm always carrying a good-tasting tobacco flavor and make sure I puff on that at least every other day. Knock on wood, I haven't had a strong craving since.

I tend to chain-vape, especially on weekends using my passthru at the computer. But this past Saturday and Sunday, I didn't carry a 'portable' PV over to the couch when I went to read a book and noticed that hours had passed by without me even thinking about vaping! This is really astonishing to me - maybe someday I'll actually get to the point of being a 'social vaper' <g>.

So don't worry that you're still smoking analogs after a week or so of vaping. Enjoy the vaping, and you'll very likely get to a point where you hardly smoke analogs at all or maybe even NOT at all. No one has set a deadline for you.

Your mom said not to say...
Don't sweat it with pressuring yourself to quit. I myself like many others were amazed to find that after trying everything on the market and some things that aren't legal in 12 states that the E-Cig did the trick for us. I have not had a tobacco cigarette since the day I got my Dragon and I have not had withdrawal fits, or cravings. It has been a stress free process.

We are all different though so don't let that bother you either. I read many post where people have cut down from 2 packs a day to 10 or less which is awesome in it's own right. It took years to build up this addiction, it is not going to just stop overnight for everyone. I think the progress you have made already has shown you that this is the right thing for you and now it's just a matter of fine tuning it.

If your not getting satisfied with the standard E-Cig you may want to consider a 6v mod either made yourself using directions from the modders forum here or buy a model like the Prodigy, Screwdriver, GLV or something. I have a 6v Magnum mod that hits like a non filtered Camel. That could be the ticket to give you that last kick you need to get over the hump.
