So I only have 30g on hand and like it because I can do lots with it. I twist two strands and get a nice .5 ohm coil and works great and chucks tons of vapor and it seems to be the best for me. Problem with it is it only takes about three puffs and my rda gets really hot and I don't like that. I know I can wrap a single strand coil at the same ohms but it just doesn't perform the same as the duel strand does. Yes the atty stays cooler longer with more puffs and it's still a nice vape but just not as nice.
Is there a trick to being able to use the duel strand coil and keep my atty cool or is it just part of the price I have to pay? I've only been using a mech and doing sub for a little over a week now. This is nothing like dripping with my MVP2.
Can y'all give me some suggestions? Anything would be appreciated.

Where is your airflow positioned? and what is the height of the coils from the deck. Have any pictures? I have had similar issues with heat and it was because of me lining up my airflow no directly on the coils. More airflow will help cool it down.

I have found that recently even with my low ohm builds my top cap never gets too hot (exception being chain vaping) but will only get warm. Pictures may help.

sorry no pictures available. The Trident has adjustable air holes and I get plenty of air and I drilled out my IGO W and get lots of air. I make sure the air blows on the coil. I guess I can keep fiddling around with different coil builds and see if I can come up with something good that doesn't create the heating problem. Thanks for the input guys. I'm gonna look into that delrin drip tip too
