I struggle to get any strong flavor from my obs engine nano, most of the time its muted. Produces allot of smoke tho. I tried high vg and 50\50. Same result.
Tried adjusting coil, difference is small.
Anyone have this tank and know how to build to get great flavor from it?
Care to take a pic og 2?
Many say flavor is great, only time i got strong flavor was in my first build. I have no idea what im doing wrong. Gonna upload some pics later so you can see couple builds.
tank is great, but when flavor is this bad i wanna replace it.

I place my coil dead center on posts and keep my build the same width of af slot. I leave large shoulders on my wicks and thin tails. Cut tails to just tuck into juice channels. Make sure your wick has some wiggle room in channel. I generally use a 3mm I'd coil. 2.5 or 3.5 will work. I just like 3mm coil and wick better. I also keep coil close to posts. There is a good thread for the Nano you can scroll through.
OBS Engine NANO RTA is the thread.

Obviously things like the coil, wicking, airflow, and power will determine performance. Still, juice counts too. You mention mixing several variations so I'm assuming this is a DIY juice (well, even if it isn't too). What else have you vaped this juice in a tank, what sort of coil, and wicking, and how do the tastes compare?

This is a tootle tank so it's gonna like a high flavor percentage.

I mix at 3% which makes a taste you juice at 70w but is basicly unflavored at low power.

I enjoy the nano as a tootle puffer but realize it's npt gonna be good on flavor unless you dump the flavoring in. 10+ percent at least

@sneipen I would encourage you play with coil placement and wicking. I always got decent flavor from Nano, but wasn't until I found my sweetspot coil placement that it started to shine for me. You'd be surprised what a difference a mm or two up/down or in/out can make.

It is, it tastes allot in my joyetech delta 2. I played with hight, but havent tweaked how close it is to the holes. I just set the coil somewhat center so cotton goes strait down into juiceholes.
I picked up some clapton wire and new cotton. See if this affects flavor. One pack cotton bacon ver.2 and giantvape cotton that seems to be very nice.

Im also waiting for some thicker wire, 24-26ga, maybe one of these goes better with this tank compared to 28ga?

I'm currently running tri core fc in mine. More flavor punch IMO. I have gotten very good flavor with twisted coils as well. Single wire coils were kind of meh for me in Nano. My af is either fully open or about 2/3 open depending on juice. Took me a 2-3 weeks to and quite a few builds to dial in my sweet spots for Nano. Trial and error is the name of the game with new rebuildables. Homework is an unfortunate requirement.

I know you said 28g parallel, what's resistance? With a simple mtl rta, you should just start out with either 28g regular coil, about 2.5 to 3 mm coil around 1.3 ohms, or 26g wire in the .6 to .9 range. What wattages are you vaping and resistance of your current build

Honestly if your wicking , coil placement, wattage range, AF are done correctly, there shouldn't be that big of a difference in wire gauges or types of coils. Yes if you run a .5 ohm 28g and compare it to a .8 ohm 26g, there will be a difference because 28g needs more wraps, but if you use the correct amount of wraps for each gauge coupled with the correct wattage, very little difference in wire gauge

The last parallel was 0.4ohm.
Using a clapton now, its about 0.76ohm.
With latest build, im vaping it on 25-32watt, depending on how warm i want it. I can go higher, but it gets a bit to warm for my liking, and not much difference in flavor.
I manage to get some flavor in last build, i have it about 1mm over screwholes, considering trying to center the coil closer to the "pins" so i get it as centered as i can to where air goes when i use it. Atm i can see about 50-60% of the coil looking down from the mouthpiece. What do you experts say to that idea?

I uploaded so pics of current build here. OBS Engine Nano - Builds? If anyone wanna check it out.

No doubt the coil should be centered over airhole. As for coil height, I have always felt 1.2 to 1.6 mm away from af to be best. Personally I feel .4 ohms to be a little low , but I really don't know this rta. For the rta's I have, .5 to 1.3 seems a better range with wattages under 30 for sure...maybe that tank is geared towards higher power, but all my mtl tanks just don't fair well over 28 ish watts because of the airflow into tank....maybe try a slight smaller coil, like 2.5 to 2.7 ish and reduce wattage some (the smaller coil may give you or make up the difference in heat). Like I said, I don't have this tank, but maybe try and make a coil small enough, not only in height but in lenght, so it's more in the path of the af. That's why I love a 2.5mm 26g , 6 wrap coil, it's not to long nor to high and seems like it catches all of the flow. Now these coil specs are for my wattages in mid 20's, so if you indeed want 40 watts, it may not be optimal, but then again 40 might not be optimal for this tank ..but again, wicking imo is number one , not only how much thru coil, but how bushy and how long the tails are and where they are placed
