ok so I got a 650 mah ego twist with a low res 2.1-2.4 ohm crystal vision clearomizer. Im using 70/30 PG/VG 30mg e-juice. when I first tried it yesterday it was Really harsh and strong - i figured that the nicotine level was too high so I diluted it with VG quite a lot (killed the flavour but it reduced the harshness so now the TH is a bit weak for me but the harshness of it still remains I tried adding more flavor and that seemed to help a bit as well. Its mainly the exhale that is harsh but i can tell by the inhale if its going to be a bad exhale most of the time. Me and my husband both got a pv he doesnt seem to notice this feeling so i was thinking that maybe it was the PG I have heard that some people can he hypersensative to it ? If anyone has any experience or knowledge about this issue it would be REALLY helpful I dont want to give up but i cant stand the throat burning that I am experiencing with this pv

additionally - my clearomizer is full. I do not directly inhale i hold it in my mouth for a second and I have tried every voltage up to 4.1 (i have heard that its bad to use any higher voltage with a low res cart )

some atomizers have a tendency to give more of a throat hit than others. if you are sure that the primer is gone on the coil and wick (sometimes this takes a bit to get rid of) you may want to try a different atomizer. I would maybe find a tank carto and try that.

if your clearo is what I think it is, you may try and hold it upside down for a couple minutes and make sure it is wicking good as well

after my first T3 I've learned to give new clearomizers, atomizers, carto tanks a good washing out (hot water) before I fill them up with eliquid. Make sure to blow the water out of the atomizers before you fill the tank or what have you. As dejo said or alluded to, that primer can give you that harsh feeling/taste.

In other words... GAH, ACK, ACK!

Before anything I'd try to get new juice with the lower nic, and possible try to get a different mixture. Maybe something along the lines of like 60/40. It might make a difference it may not, but that'd be what I'd try. The high nic level definitely has a lot to do with it though I'd say.

I tried a 16 mg menthol and it was a bit better but that may have been the menthol covering up the burning throat lol

the clearo should be ok my husband got the same on plus he doesnt notice this much at all even on my pv- which is odd because i was much more of a heavier smoker then he was and i liked a much stronger throat hit - thats why i thought that it might have been the PG

What flavor juice is it? Lemonade and super-citrusy flavors make my throat hurt. Just a thought.

i tried menthol first which was to strong but once diluted with pg it was ok (but that was so that my grandmother could try a vp - we wanted everyone in the house to quit analogs ) then i switched to apple and diluted which made it more tolerable but I cant vape it very oftain because it was still very strong - i added in quite a bit of strawberry flavouring (loranns ) and again it helped a bit but not enough that i can use it 24/7 I would have to kind of rotate to minimize the throat irritation

First make sure your not getting the primer from the clearo, those can give a nasty/throat hit taste. Next maybe switch to a higher VG & a LOWER nic level. It could just be the flavor of the juice too. I have been normally vaping 70/30 & 50/50 at 6mg strength. I notice on some flavors I damn near choke from the throat hit and its the same PG/VG and Nic base as another flavor I can hit 20 times in a row and dont tingle the throat. I have to slow down on that and not take as hard of a draw and its ok.

What i have found from this site, is that every ones PG to VG to Nic levels are so different. It is not easy to figure out what is best for you. But keep up the experimentation. Once you find what works for you, it will get much easier. Took me about 3 month. Now my vaping bills are going down and down per month. Good luck, dont give up.

First how much vg did you add?
How much flavoring did you add?

This changes you Nic value and pg/vg ratio

You can try a different juice. Everyone likes alittle bit different ratio and flavor.

Some people like more th, others do not.

Are you still smoking? how much? what type of clero are you using?

I didnt really measure but it was quite a bit. I have tried quite a few flavours now ive began to mix my own im using vg then adding a bit of my original 30ml mix plus whatever flavouring I want i havent found the perfect ratio yet but I have eliminated the throat burn - unfortunitly I have also eliminated the TH :'( Im going to keep adding the 30mg to the VG with flavouring and iim hoping that I can find a good middleground that I like - Wish me luck !

I do wish you luck but I want to strongly encourage you to visit this part of the forum:

DIY E-Liquid

A great, friendly and knowledgeable bunch. There are calculators you can use to exactly determine how much pg/vg/flavoring you need to add to reduce your 30 mg juice to something lower. There are recipes you can follow to make your juice from scratch, too.

I'm not sure but it seems like early days vaping for you and your family, so this needs some serious study before undertaking making your own juice using 100mg/ml nic, but you can benefit from the wisdom and camaraderie in that group.
