Having a Weird Problem With My Kayfun......

Hey everyone. Hope all is well. I'm having a weird issue with my kayfun. This might be a wicking issue since I rewicked last night, but not too sure. After sbout 3-5 pulls, I'm tasting burnt. I then unscrew the top of the kayfun and air bubbles come up from what I'm assuming is the juice well.

Anyone ever experience a similar issue? Any ideas other than to just keep taking the top off?

It's probably not wicking good. If you are not getting any bubbles at all while using it, you'll get dry hits.

How much cotton you using for your wick?

I made it kinda loose in the coil on this build. Guess that's my problem. After I finish the tank I'll rewick.

It's also possible that a winding may have moved and created a hot spot.

Are you blocking the juice channels with your wick tails? If so, I'd try a build where the coil is angled and the wicks sit at the sides of the chamber, not in the middle blocking the juice channels. I know some people have success with such builds, so I'm not going to say its the "wrong" way to wick, but if you are having issues exposing the juice channels should help with juice flow and make it easier for the tank to equalize pressure.

I vape my Kayfuns at 18-25 watts regulated and the stock juice channels supply plenty of juice only if completely exposed in the chamber. On occasion I'll have a Kayfun that starts giving dry hits, and every time it's because a wick tail has been dislodged and moved over a juice channel, probably from falling over on tables and what not.

Here's how I wick all my kayfuns, this setup has had over 30ml of juice through it vaped at 18-20 watts regulated and never a dry hit. Please excuse my sloppy coil, I like spaced coils in my kayfuns and since I never have to see the coil I don't care if they look nice As you can see the wicks lay offset from the juice channel opening inside the chamber, which gives a clear path for juice (and pressure equalizing air bubbles) to flow.

Ya, what you are describing sounds like blocked juice channels.

What I do is when I get the chamber on, but before I put the chimney on, I hold it up to the light (or use a flashlight) and make sure I can see light coming through the channels clearly. If I cant see the channel clearly with all the light going in, I take a safety pin and move the wick up against the wall. I use a double barrel build so I have two tails that have to be manipulated like this every time I re-wick.
