Hello Everyone

Im sure this is normal during the transition but I find myself still going outside for cigs (as I dont smoke in the house) and vaping in between. I dont believe its the cravings but more so out of habit. Any tips and how long did it take to break it? Thanks so much. Im using the Subtank mini at 18 watts and 1.2 ohm coils at 3mg nic.

I agree that everyone is different. Once I got my vape, I didn't touch a cig. If you think it's just habit not cravings, why not vape outside when you feel like stepping out? Think about getting rid of the cigs or placing them somewhere very inconvenient while your vape is readily available.

It took me 12 days of dual to figure everything out. I ended up keeping a cheap clearo of the next highest nic for those times I felt the "itch". I would hit it once and then go back to the regular vape. It took 3 days to a week to adjust then I was easily on the lower regular nic. Remembering to reach for the vape was a different experience. I think I just got to a point and said I was gonna do it, no matter how difficult it is. Then I found it wasn't as difficult as I had worried over.

You might try keeping the cigs in a drawer where you have to go get them instead of being right at hand. 90% of the habit part is all in the head, the addiction in the cigs is very real physically, you'll find your path.

Good luck in your vape journey.

Ive had experience with analogs, what is giving you the trouble? I used to, every now and then, accidentally light the wrong end, that always produced a burnt flavor. Sometimes the packs were really hard to open. Oh and one time I got them all wet and they just wouldnt work anymore after that.

Im sorry....I truly couldnt resist given the name of this thread.

Im with everyone here. Dont stress yourself out over the cigarettes you do have, rather be happy about the cigarettes you dont smoke.

I was able to give up cigarettes within 2-3 days. My wife, however, took about 2-3 weeks. So yeah, everybody is different.

I think my epiphany came on my 2nd day. I kept my cigarettes on the kitchen table, out of reach, so that I had to at least get up to get one. I was passing by the table on my way to get coffee or something, and, without thinking, picked one up at lit it, just like I always did. Almost immediately I realized what I had done and I snuffed it out in the ashtray. It sat there in that ashtray, all lonely and forlorned, for a couple of more hours until I finally decided I probably should go ahead and smoke it. As I smoked it I realized that it wasn't any better than vaping, and that is when I knew that vaping was going to work. I had one more cigarette the following morning with my coffee, and that was my last.

Really? I want to be able to vape through out the day. Not like 1 hit or 2 then done. Also I dont wanna get nic sick as being new to vaping Im not sure yet when enough is enough..lol
Yeah, 3 mg x 18 watts strikes me as insufficient as well. How much did you smoke, and for how many years? How much liquid are you going through each day?

I know everyone is different, but I go trough 5-7ml of 15 mg on small chambered, bottom-fed RDAs every day, and I run 'em at 15-20 watts.

If your still smoking 6mg will not get you nic sick. Just because people always say you should do something a certain way, doesnt mean its gonna work for you.

To go straight to 3mg is just asking to keep smoking. You're not going outside out of habit, youre going because youre nic addiction isnt satisfied.

For me it's more of the hand to mouth habit movement. A friend of mine introduced me to vaping and he said "It only works if you want it to work" (quitting analogs). Haven't had a stick since that day. I did take a puff of an analog 2 days ago to see if it still feels the same. Lit an analog, had 1 puff, and threw it out. Maybe you could figure out what habits or situations that makes you wanna have an analog and substitute it with vaping? Like sitting on the can or after a meal?

It took me about a week and a half to kick them completely; and after I had been off over a year I went back to them for two months before kicking them cold turkey the second time. This isn't about the sticks you do smoke, it's about the ones you don't. Fight the battle one stick at a time.

I'm a firm believer now in vaping. I qiut for 5 years and started back up and was smoking for almost the past 10 years attempting to quit the hole time. I've done the patch thing, chantix. Nothing seemed to help. My brotherinlaw turned me on to vaping. I havent had a cig siince. I've already cut my self back to 3mg. Lovin it. I think im now a vapeangalist. Soreading the good word and tasty clouds.

In my case, dual use was a road back to my long time 2-3 PAD habit. I was not able to quit until I decided I could never ever take another puff on a cig. And on July 31 last year, I did just that.

Everyone is different but that is what worked for me. It was really quite simple. Never another puff on a cig. I had some Very Bad Days early on but got past it.

You need to find the highest craving fighting nic level you can tolerate. If you have not had "OD" symptoms then you don't know where that is. If you have cravings you cannot stop by vaping then you probably haven't found it yet. And it depends on your gear. Six mg on an EVOD or CE4 is not the same as 6mg in a Kanger Subtank Mini.

This is an important read that explains, among other things, why even 18mg vaped for a half an hour (used in the study) does not fully simulate a single cig. And why you cannot satisfy your nic urges when taking "smoke breaks" designed for cig smokers.
