Hello Everyone

Im sure this is normal during the transition but I find myself still going outside for cigs (as I dont smoke in the house) and vaping in between. I dont believe its the cravings but more so out of habit. Any tips and how long did it take to break it? Thanks so much. Im using the Subtank mini at 18 watts and 1.2 ohm coils at 3mg nic.

Welcome R2sojr! I was a dual user for about a month before I finally decided I just wasn't going to buy any more cigarettes. Like you, it was habit, not necessarily craving. Now, my new habit is to pick up a vape, rather than a pack.

It will come when YOU are ready.

6mg nic isn't terribly high - your body will let you know when you've had enough (and usually before you feel really gnarly.)

+1 on upping the nic level. I would say get a bottle of 12 and a bottle of 6, same flavor. You can mix them to get different strengths. If 12 is too much, mix 50/50 with the 6 and get a 9. If you get down to 6 and that works, you can mix the 3 with the 12 to get more 6.
You could also get a bottle of 24mg and a bottle of 0mg, and make any possible nic level in between.

3mg of nicotine is only .3 percent nicotine by volume.Youre not going to get sick from vaping 6mg nicotine.

My advice to you is to up the amount of nicotine in your juice and then SLOW DOWN.

The biggest mistake Ive seen from both new vapers and veterans alike, is getting in a rush to quit vaping as well.

Take your time and GRADUALLY decrease your nicotine to the next smallest amount over a period of several months. This gives your body time to adjust and will help reduce the cravings for cigararettes.

Some of us smoked for 20+ years. To go from 24mg of nicotine down to 3mg in a few weeks of vaping is unrealistic IMO.

For me, I had dual use of both Vaping and Analogs for 3 and a half months before I gave up analogs completely. The more I vaped, the more the analogs tasted like crap. It was a slow process but it paid off in the end. I was a 1 and a hlf a pack a day smoker for 28 years. I had started out with 18 mg nic and found out that it did not satisfy my nic craving. I bumped it up to 24 mg and that did the trick. I used it with a 1.8 ohm coil tank because that makes a huge difference. If you use a higher powered device coupled with a lower resistant coil, you would need to lower the nic for sure. Your body will let you know when you get too much nicotine. As for now, don't count the cigs you smoke, count the ones that you don't. Good luck and anymore questions or concerns, do not hesitate to ask.

^^^^^ This is really good advice. You only have one job now, and that is to quit smoking. And for many of us that means ZERO smoking. How you vape, how much you vape, how much nic you use is really an irrelevant issue that you can deal with a year from now if the negative propaganda guilts you into that.

Personally I only dropped my nic when I had no adverse reaction at all. My drops were all very natural and more as a result of my body wanting less than my desire to arbitrarily cut further. That should happen if you go slow.

Anyone sneaking smokes because 3mg is not enough is not doing this right. The evil is not 6 or 9mg, it is the smokes you sneak to make up for a too weak for you juice.

Im gonna buy a bottle of 12mg. I have the same flvor in 3mg so ill play in between somewhere and find my g spot..lol

Sounds like a Good Plan.

When I switched, I couldn't get over the hump by using the Same mg/ml all day. I needed to have a Carto with some High Level Nicotine in it for when the Bad Cravings came.

So I used my All Day Nicotine level 95% of the Time. But also had my "Break Glass in case of an Emergency" Carto for the Bad Cravings.

Not sure how Many Tanks you have. But you have to have AT LEAST two. Because it sounds like the Only thing that is keeping you from Smoking is that single Suntank Mini. So if it Breaks....?

I would suggest getting a 2nd Tank and putting to Higher mg/ml in it. And use it in Tandem with you Other Tank which has you Day-2-Day mg/ml in it.

You can Do This. And you are Not the Only person who has had Troubles Switching. But you have to Want It. Really Want It. And be Able to sometimes just Grit your Teeth and say "NO!. I just Not Going to Smoke that Cigarette Today."

I agree that bumping your nic to 12 is a good idea to try. I have some 18 in reserve just in case. Might also increase the power (increase voltage, decrease resistance, ...) to increase the vapor production and throat hit.

For me, vaping has never been as good as smoking. They are close, but different. It came down to a decision - I'm done with smokes. I still miss them sometimes, but I'm done.

YMMV. IANYL. etc.

I agree with the folks that suggest a higher nicotine level and you will be fine! Also taking lung hits will help you to get away from cigs. I just started Vaping last Nov and haven't touched a cigarette once! They actually smell aweful to me now and I have actually gotten grossed out and felt sick in a room of smokers!

Istick 50w. Went into my local bm to get juice and the guy told me I should drip. Now im really confused..lol

The iStick 50W is a Variable Wattage (VW) device.

So you can set the Watts Low (8 watts or so) to get a Mild Hit. Or you can Crank Up the Watts to 50 Watts to get a Much Stronger Hit. And, of course, everything in between.

What Watts do you set you iStick for?

BTW - Dripping is Great for Some. A PITA for Others. It is All a Personal Preference.

depends on the person I suppose... it took me over 6 months to go from 3PAD to 1PAD and I still do the morning ciggie with coffie... and I vape 36 nic juice. Im down to 1 - 3 ciggies a day depending on my stress levels and beer levels ;) I started vaping to reduce my costs on ciggies... not to quit smoking. But, I have found I can go a couple of days without too, so eventually I wont be buying ciggies anymore...
