Just got it today....I made a quick 0.8 ohm micro coil on my new IGO-W, no shorts looks fine.

I am using my Sony VTC4 flat top batteries.

No matter what I do, I cannot get this device to fire anything! I have read the fasttech discussion about how to remove the center silver pin inside the button and then to turn the nut up a little bit, however thats not working for me.

I cannot get that silver pin out, its soooo tight and I don't want to strip anything, so I am being gentle.

I have tried in both top and bottom modes, flipping my battery around, adjusting the center pin up and down.

I've watched what little youtube videos I could find about the real one and watched how to replace the spring etc, everything works IF you can remove that center silver pin.

In the pictures, you can see that the silver ping that would be making the connection doesn't seem to get pressed down enough. If I can get that removed without slicing my finger again or without stripping it, I can sand the bottom plastic of the button or adjust the hex nut on the top and probably get the thing to fire.

You can how the silver pin isn't reaching the center of the tube when pressed all the way....

I had the same problem as you.
This is what I did.
The problem was that the silver post that runs thru the derlin part of the horizonal button was not 90 deg to the posts it is suppose to hit. So that means that the throw on the button needed to be loonger. That horizonal post needed to travel further in towards the center posts to make contact.

I took it all apart and ground down the end of the plastic horizonal post at the end were it touched the opposite side of the mod.
Then I pulled out the dremal with a thin grinding disk. Were the outside of the button touches the body of the mod, it is curved out. so when the button touches the mod it touches it on the high side of the curved mod. I cut that section flat, just a little mind you. then on the back side of the metal button, were it touches the mod. I ground some of that down also.
The whole idea here is to get that vertical silver post to travel just a bit further into the center of that mod.

My fix worked. Not a miss fire in the past 2 days.
IMO well worth the effort. For a clone at $45, You have to realize it my need to be tweeked

Also I have to add Mine was an ehpro, But the switch system looks to be exactly like yours in the pic
