I put a grommet on rather than dental floss, the coil still reads good on the DMM and still get 0.0. I'm not sure if I'll ever figure this out. But thank you so much for responding so quickly, I'll still be checking in tonight and trying all ideas.

I'm going to have to take a bow out on this one. I do believe we've isolated the problem to be in the MVP/kayfun connection. If you are really brave, you might try to open the MVP and watch what happens as you screw the kayfun in. I really believe the issue is in the center pin of one of the two devices. Good luck!
The MVP and itaste v3's have a known issue with their pins....a longer 510 connector will push them in. Try raising the pin a bit using a paperclip, work the clip around the pin lightly prying up the mvp's pin
I've had this same problem with my kayfun and vamo v5. I don't know why this works but if you take off the very bottom where the 510 pin is (on the kayfun) I unscrew the 510 pin until its unthreaded then take off the very very bottom of the kayfun it opens the space under the base where the air holes and fill hole are. I take that apart and clean all juice out. Then I screw the bottom on for only a couple threads then start threading the 510 pin. Then I finish tightening the bottom and then the 510 pin. And it fires right up. It will quit working every 4-5 days a real bummer but this works for me... try it out and let me know... idk if the juice that gets inside causes it to freak out or somehow the pin stops making contact... vamo reads 9.9 until I do this... hope it helps
Try backing the screw on the kayfun out some, sounds like a simple case of not connecting. On the 3.1 it's not connected to the block, so it did not move that.

a NON reading on an SVD/MVP/VTR means that there is no contact with the center pin of the mod or the coil is broken/split open. seems that the ccenter pin and + pin of the atty are not making contact... either extend the + pin of the atty if you can or raise the + post of the mod.
