In both cases you know the manufacturer and they have a reputation to protect so both of them will have something to lose if they produce horrible clones.

I have a pair of hcigars and they are OK. Not as well machined as the real thing but machined better than some no names I have seen.

Before I gave any thought to the silver plated contact I would see if I could find out how thick it is. It can be so thin as to wear off the first time you put a battery in or thick enough to last a lifetime (my money is on thin).

As far as my experience with mods/atomizers, which is very minimal, EHPRO seems to make outstanding clones for each mods/atomizers that I am interested in. Then, for hcigar clones, I recently bought the kraken and was very disappointed when it came to QC... the cut-out of the entire atomizer was oval rather than a circle, and the drill-out for the kanthal holes was not finished.
Just wanted to ask for personal experiences when it came to clones. I just ordered the hcigar Helios which comes with copper contacts. lets hope this one is not as worse as the kraken clone...

I have an EHpro Atomic RDA clone and the quality of it is exceptional. I doubt I would be able to tell it from the real thing and people I show it to mistaken it for a real one all the time.

I also have an Hcigar M16 mechanical clone and the quality of it is great too. Threads are super smooth, no machining errors, and an overall great mech clone.

The general pattern I've seen is that EHpro makes great atomizers (RBAs, tanks, etc) and Hcigar makes great mods. But when swapped (EHpro making mods and Hcigar making attys), the quality is hit or miss for some reason. But I don't have an EHpro mod, or an Hcigar atty to confirm this.

Does your positive pin on the atomic adjust? I got one that wouldn't move. It was so tight that it turned the center post with it. Eventually I had to stop before it was stripped. Maybe you don't need to adjust yours to make a solid connection with the battery? Shop owner replace it with a new one don't want to ruin this one as well.
