So when you do a twisted Ti build, you don't get hot spots? Do you pulse it before wicking? That's what I would be worried about.

So do you notice any difference in flavor between the two (contact or spaced)? I pulsed the current Ti build I have in my TM atty. I was real careful and patient with it and I still got a couple times where one of the legs lit up orange for just a hot second. Most of the coils are blue, purple, or dark brown. That spot on one of the legs where it lit up is an off-white, grayish color. I wonder if it got to the dangerous Ti oxide stage on just that one piece but I didn't see any powder form and I wiped it just in case before vaping...
my ti coils are never really contact or spaced fully. i make a contact coil then ever so slightly pull it. maybe the space is the thickness of a hair? i find with the juices i run it doesnt gunk and choke the coil as fast with the tiny spacing. just dont pulse your coil with crazy watts to make it glow past a dark red. low and slow my friend. i also strum the coil with a micro screw driver in between pulses to get the hot spots out. no more than 10 warts.

Hello vapors! I'm fairly new to vaping for about a month now. Purchased this mod along with the Uwell Crown Tank and never looked at a Newport again. I was so determined on quiting I gave out a half a pack of analogs the day I made my vape purchase and no regrets. Anyways I've been vaping and learning this on my own and I think I'm doing fairly well but I have something that's been bothering me maybe you guys have the answer for. For some reason my mod doesn't know when to turn temp control on/off. For example, whenever I switch from profile 1 which is set to 40 watts to profile 2 at 60 temp control kicks in. It's almost as if whenever a certain wattage maybe above 50 is used temp control kicks in and I see this is the case as the preheat setting kicks in, ohms no longer rise locked at .26 and I see the temp slowly rising on screen indicating temp control as opposed to my profile 1 where temp blanks out with ---- as I use it. There have even been other times where profile 1 switch to temp control too. I'm not even using my ni200 coil but the dual .25 one. I would just like to have different profiles at different wattage since in the morning my regular 80 is a bit too much. I thought this DNA 200 chip was smart and talk of the town?
The DNA 200 board/chip is the smartest and most advanced chip out there... It is kind of weird to me that when you switched from cigs to vaping you went straight to the most advanced and inherently complicated and complex device out right now but hey, if that's what it took to quit, more power to you! Anyway, it sounds to me that you might have your settings in your profiles mixed up. On my VT200, I've got two profiles set up for my Uwell Crown. I have a temp control one with the TCR set at 0.00105 and I have another profile set for straight wattage with the temp control OFF option selected. You have connected to a windows computer and configured your device with the Escribe software, right? If you want to just use wattage mode, you need to set the temp control to OFF in those profiles. I'm almost certain you just don't have temp control set to OFF in your profiles. SS can be used in wattage or temp control mode, but it is probably the least stable of materials for temp control use at this time. That is probably why the DNA 200 is randomly thinking you are using a temp control material in your tank.

Just go back through all your profiles and make sure the temp control OFF bubble is selected, and that the preheat options are all set on each profile to your liking. I don't suggest a preheat higher than 100 watts with the crown BTW IMO.

The silicone sleeve from sweetvapes fits as well as the authentic sleeve from yihi on the mclass. Looks nice.
Hey guys without reading the whole post. Does anyone know of a good wall charger for my new vt. Im without any computers, and as of now only have a smart phone and android tablet?

I ordered a sleeve from eBay. It was the first search result with the 30 or so color options. I hope it fits well. And I just use either a samsung phone wall charger (not even sure what the amperage is but the DNA is supposed to charge at 1 amp no matter what) or an apple iPhone wall adapter and the USB cord from my Xbox 360 controller to charge my VT200.

I guess I should add to it. A standalone charger that has all the bells and whistles.

All you need is a 2 Amp USB wall charger. You can get on from Walmart for about $10 bucks. That is what I use and there is no charger on the face of the planet that will charge you device any faster so why spend a bunch of money.

There are many chargers out there that support much higher charge rates. But these batteries we use might not take too much beyond 1C.

What will you do with the extra amperage? The charger on the DNA 200 only uses 1 amp Max. So a charger with more amperage is of no value.

The DNA200 has it's own built in balanced charging circuit that's probably better than anything you could get.
you still need a charger to feed the dna200's built in balance charger. i was posting what i use to charge my 200's. maybe im missing the point of yer post.

I think the key word you missed was "standalone".

What are you asking here? All you need to charge your VT200 is any all adapter that's at least 1 amp and a USB cable. Are you asking for a lipo pack charger so you can take out your VT200 battery pack and charge it solely??

I'm not asking anything. Re-read the thread where this all started.

Carnage,

I didn't miss anything. Dave just wants the best charger he can get and for the DNA 200 that is a good quality minimum 1 amp wall wart.

Dave also asked for something that checks the cells. The DNA 200 built in LiPo charger does that also.

Dave IMHO asked a question that was never intended to generate this much bickering. If Dave really was talking about a standalone LiPo charger I am sure everyone here myself included would advise him against it. Tearing apart your VT 200 every time your batter is low would 1) put undo stress on the unit and wiring. 2) put undo wear on the battery connectors. 3) defeat the whole purpose of the built in LiPo charger and the ease of just plugging it in when you go to bed like you do with your cell phone.

Gentlemen I am out of this conversation it is just so far off base it is getting silly and I am not pointing fingers at any particular post.

Like the feel in the hand also. Not bad. Lighter then the yihi m... ecig.com was good on shipping 5 days and price $126.00
Cant go wrong with that. Thanks

Well see that's the thing.. My coworkers and my friend who took me to get this thing all wanted me to start off small and upgrade my way up but my whole thought process is different from the rest. I didn't want to be an idiot like them and then have to upgrade like they all had to and still end up spending unnecessary $$$. My goal was go big and not worry about upgrading anytime soon. I mean if I started with a starter mod like the guy over the counter was pushing for, eventually I would've needed to upgrade as it only went up to 50 watts and by day 2 with this VT I was already pushing 80 watts as my setting for best flavor and good throat hit. On top of that I really wanted a blue mod and this one caught my eye just sitting on the wall shelf display calling my name lol.

As for the temp control thing that was my issue. The preheat setting was defaulted at 200 watts.. Turned it down to 100 and went from 1 to .5 seconds like I was suggested to do by you and a rep from evolv and no more nuking my throat to oblivion going on. Sadly I fried two coils before knowing this tho. Thankfully the uwell rep was nice enough to send me some replacements free because he said I probably had bad coils. Little did I know hcigar didn't configure this thing properly. On a positive note though, Nick from evolv said they are working with manufacturers to have these DNA200 mods configured out of the box.
